Introduction

The Waterpik Nano Plus water flosser offers full-size performance in a compact design, making it ideal for both home use and travel. It utilizes a unique combination of water pressure and pulsations to clean deep between teeth and below the gumline, areas often missed by traditional brushing and string flossing.

Operating Instructions

  1. Adjust Pressure: Select your desired pressure setting using the dial on the unit. The Waterpik Nano Plus offers 5 pressure settings for a customized clean. First-time users should start with the lowest pressure setting and gradually increase it over time as gums adapt.

  3. Positioning: Lean over the sink and place the flossing tip in your mouth. Partially close your lips to prevent splashing while allowing water to flow from your mouth into the sink.
  4. Start Flossing: Turn the unit ON using the power switch on the base. Then, use the convenient on/off water control switch located directly on the handle to start the water flow.
  5. Hand operating the on/off water control switch on the Waterpik handle

  6. Flossing Technique: Aim the tip along the gumline at a 90-degree angle. Begin with your back teeth and move along the gumline, pausing briefly between each tooth. Floss both the front and backside of your upper and lower teeth. The 360-degree swivel handle allows for easy access to all areas of your mouth.
  7. Completion: Continue flossing until the reservoir is empty, which provides approximately 60 seconds of flossing time. Turn the unit OFF when finished.

Maintenance

  • Reservoir Cleaning: The 15 oz removable reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Regularly clean the reservoir to prevent mineral buildup and maintain hygiene.
  • Unit Storage: For hygienic storage and travel, the reservoir inverts to cover the unit, keeping out dust and debris.
  • Waterpik Nano Plus in compact storage mode with inverted reservoir

  • Tip Cleaning: Rinse flossing tips after each use. Replace tips every 3 months or as recommended by your dental professional.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Do not immerse the main unit in water.

Troubleshooting

  • No Water Flow / Weak Pressure:
    • Ensure the reservoir is firmly seated on the base.
    • Check if the flossing tip is securely clicked into the handle. A loose tip can cause leaks or weak pressure.
    • Verify the pressure dial is set to a desired level (1-5).
    • Prime the unit as described in the Setup section if it's the first use or if it hasn't been used for a while.
  • Unit is Loud:
    • Some noise is normal during operation due to the pump mechanism.
    • Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface to minimize vibrations.
  • Water Leaking from Handle/Tip Connection:
    • Ensure the flossing tip is fully inserted and clicked into place. Wiggle the tip slightly to ensure a proper seal.
    • Check the small O-ring gasket inside the tip connection point for any damage or displacement.
