4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the 7-inch Rafter Square

  1. Marking 90-Degree Cuts: Place the lipped fence against the edge of your material. Use the straight edge of the square to draw a perpendicular line.
  2. Marking 45-Degree Cuts: Align the lipped fence against the material edge. The 45-degree angle is clearly marked on the square's hypotenuse.
  3. Using as a Saw Guide: Position the square with its lipped fence against the material edge. The thick aluminum body provides a stable guide for a circular saw to ensure straight and accurate cuts.

  1. Scribing Lines: Utilize the 1/4-inch spaced scribing notches and super long scriber slots to mark parallel lines at various distances from the edge.

4.2 Using the 12-inch Combination Square

  1. Measuring and Marking: Slide the ruler to the desired measurement and tighten the spring screw. Use the ruler's edge for precise marking.
  2. Checking Squareness (90 and 45 Degrees): Place the square head against the edge of your material. The fixed 90-degree and 45-degree angles allow for quick verification of corners and angles.

  1. Using the Spirit Level: The integrated level vial allows you to check for horizontal or vertical alignment. Ensure the bubble is centered between the lines for accurate leveling.
