3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Monitor Preparation

  1. Charge the Monitor: Before first use, fully charge the i10 monitor using the provided charger. The monitor has an internal battery, allowing for wireless operation.
  2. Mount the Monitor: Attach the monitor to your vehicle's windshield or dashboard using the supplied mount. Position it for clear visibility without obstructing your view of the road.

3.2. Transmitter Installation

The i10 system uses valve cap style external transmitters. Ensure the CR1632 batteries are correctly installed in each transmitter before proceeding.

  1. Identify Tires: Determine which tire corresponds to each transmitter (e.g., Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right).
  2. Attach Transmitters: Screw each transmitter onto the corresponding tire's valve stem. Hand-tighten only.
  3. Secure with Locking Nuts (Optional): For added security, place a locking nut onto the valve stem before attaching the transmitter. Tighten the transmitter, then use the provided wrench to tighten the locking nut against the transmitter.
  4. Add Air: Transmitters can be unscrewed to add air without reprogramming.

3.3. Signal Booster Installation

The Rhino Signal Booster extends the range of the TPMS, ensuring consistent connections for RVs and towed vehicles.

  1. Mounting Location: Install the signal booster on the undercarriage of your RV or towed vehicle. Choose a location that is protected from direct impact but allows for good signal transmission.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the booster to a 12V or 24V power source. The booster features built-in voltage protection. Ensure a secure connection to prevent dislodgement during travel.
  3. Waterproof Design: The booster has a completely waterproof sealed PCB design, making it suitable for exterior mounting.

3.4. Syncing Transmitters with Monitor

Follow the monitor's on-screen instructions to sync each transmitter. Typically, this involves selecting the tire position on the monitor and then screwing on the corresponding transmitter. The monitor will detect the transmitter and display its initial readings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the monitor to turn it on or off. The monitor will automatically begin displaying tire pressure and temperature data once powered on and synced with transmitters.

4.2. Monitoring Display

The i10 monitor displays real-time pressure (in PSI) and temperature (in Fahrenheit) for each monitored tire. The display is designed for clear readability.

  • Pressure Readings: Indicated in PSI.
  • Temperature Readings: Indicated in Fahrenheit.
  • Vehicle Swapping: The system can monitor up to 4 vehicles or 40 tires in total. It features hands-free vehicle swapping for front and rear vehicles, automatically cycling every 6 seconds.

4.3. Alerts and Warnings

The system provides visual and audio alerts for various tire conditions:

  • Low Pressure: Alerts when tire pressure falls below a user-defined threshold.
  • Leaking: Alerts for rapid pressure loss, indicating a potential leak.
  • High Temperature: Alerts if a tire's temperature exceeds a safe limit.

When an alert occurs, the monitor will display the affected tire and emit an audible warning. Address any alerts promptly and safely.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Transmitter Battery Replacement

Each external transmitter uses a replaceable CR1632 3V coin cell battery. The monitor will indicate when a transmitter battery is low. To replace:

  1. Unscrew the transmitter from the valve stem.
  2. Carefully open the transmitter casing.
  3. Remove the old CR1632 battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the casing securely and reattach the transmitter to the valve stem.

5.2. Cleaning

Wipe the monitor and transmitters with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the signal booster remains free of excessive dirt or debris, especially around its connections.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. "NO SIGNAL" Alarm

  • Signal Booster Placement: If experiencing "NO SIGNAL" alarms, especially for tires on a towed vehicle, adjust the placement of the signal booster. Moving it further back on the RV or closer to the front of the towed vehicle can improve signal reception.
  • Power Connection: Ensure the signal booster's 12V/24V power connection is secure and not loose, as vibrations during travel can dislodge connections.
  • Transmitter Batteries: Check if the transmitter batteries are low or need replacement.

6.2. Monitor Screen Readability

  • Sun Glare: In bright sunlight, direct glare can make the screen difficult to read. Adjust the monitor's position or angle on its mount to minimize glare.

6.3. Slow Reconnection After Parking

  • It is normal for the system to take a minute or two to reconnect with sensors after the vehicle has been stationary for some time. The current pressures will display once the sensors are in motion.
