Important Safeguards

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.
2. Clean: Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth. Remove the crumb tray and wipe it clean. Ensure the toaster is completely dry before plugging it in.
3. Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as curtains or walls. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the toaster.
4. Initial Use (Burn-off): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread for a few cycles at the highest setting (7). This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be present during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 240V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Insert Food: Place one slice of bread, bagel, or other item into each toasting slot. Ensure items are not too thick or large to prevent jamming.
2. Select Browning Level: Turn the Browning Control Dial to your desired setting. Setting 1 is the lightest, and Setting 7 is the darkest. Start with a medium setting (e.g., 3 or 4) and adjust as needed for future use.
3. Lower Toast Lever: Press the Toast Lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin, and the indicator light on the Cancel button will illuminate.
4. Using Special Functions:
   • Cancel: To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the Cancel button. The toast will pop up.
   • Bagel: For toasting bagels, insert the bagel halves with the cut side facing inwards. Press the Bagel button after lowering the toast lever. This function toasts the cut side while gently warming the outer side. The Bagel button indicator light will illuminate.
5. Completion: Once the selected browning cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up, and the indicator lights will turn off.
6. Remove Food: Carefully remove the toasted items. The toast lever can be lifted further manually to raise smaller items for easier removal (high-lift feature).

Note: Toasting results can vary based on bread type, freshness, and moisture content. Adjust the browning setting accordingly.

Care and Cleaning

Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

1. Crumb Tray: Pull out the crumb tray located at the bottom of the toaster. Dispose of crumbs. Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before reinserting. Ensure the crumb tray is fully pushed in before using the toaster.
2. Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the finish. For stubborn spots, a mild non-abrasive cleaner can be used.
3. Interior: Do not attempt to clean the interior of the toaster or insert any objects into the toasting slots.
4. Storage: Store the toaster in a clean, dry place when not in use.
