5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the tool is switched off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the tool.
  3. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.
  4. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

5.2. Attaching the Side Handle and Depth Gauge

  1. Loosen the side handle clamp by rotating it counter-clockwise.
  2. Slide the handle onto the front collar of the drill.
  3. Insert the metal depth gauge into the hole on the side handle.
  4. Adjust the handle and depth gauge to your desired position and tighten the clamp by rotating it clockwise.

5.3. Installing SDS Plus Drill Bits/Chisels

  1. Clean the shank of the drill bit/chisel.
  2. Pull back the chuck collar on the tool.
  3. Insert the SDS Plus bit into the chuck until it locks into place.
  4. Release the chuck collar. Pull on the bit to ensure it is securely seated. A slight axial play is normal for SDS Plus systems.
  5. To remove, pull back the chuck collar and pull the bit out.
