5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Coffee

  1. Ensure the coffee maker is unplugged and cool.
  2. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired level (up to 10 cups). Do not overfill.
  3. Place a #6 cone-shaped paper filter (or the reusable metal filter, if included) into the filter basket.
  4. Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of ground coffee per cup, but adjust to your taste.
  5. Close the lid securely.
  6. Place the insulated carafe with its lid properly closed onto the base of the coffee maker, ensuring it is correctly positioned to activate the drip-stop mechanism.
  7. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  8. Press the "Brew" or "On" button to start the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  9. Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffee maker will automatically turn off. The insulated carafe will keep the coffee warm for an extended period.
  10. Carefully remove the carafe and pour your coffee.

Note: The coffee maker features an anti-drip system, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing. However, do not remove it for more than 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the filter basket and discard the used coffee grounds and filter.
  3. Wash the insulated carafe, its lid, and the filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These components are not dishwasher safe.
  4. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  5. Do not immerse the coffee maker's main body, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

6.2 Descaling (Every 2-4 Months)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker, affecting its performance. Descale regularly.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution by mixing white vinegar and water in equal parts, or use a commercial descaling agent according to its instructions.
  2. Pour the solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Place an empty filter (without coffee) in the filter basket and position the empty carafe.
  4. Start a brewing cycle. After about half the solution has brewed through, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
  6. Discard the solution from the carafe.
  7. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse the coffee maker thoroughly and remove any residual descaling solution taste.
