  1. Place your compatible Westinghouse generator approximately 20 feet from your home.
  2. Check your generator's breakers, fuel, and oil levels.
  3. Plug the control cable into the generator's Smart Switch Ready outlet.
  4. Plug the L14-30P power cord from the ST Switch into the generator.
  5. Put the generator's engine control switch to the RUN position (standby mode).
  6. Plug the extension cord from your home into the ST Switch's utility power input.
  7. Plug the control cable into the ST Switch.
  8. Plug essential appliances into the 120V outlets on the ST Switch.
  9. Test for successful setup by temporarily unplugging the extension cord from the home outlet to simulate a power outage. The generator should start automatically.
