3.1. Initial Power On
- Plug the LV-UE03 into a USB power source.
- Wait for the LED indicator to stabilize, which typically takes about 30 seconds. This indicates the device is ready for configuration.
3.2. Connecting to the Device for Configuration
There are two primary methods to connect to the LV-UE03 for initial configuration:
Method 1: Wireless Connection
- On your computer or mobile device, search for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Connect to the network named "Wi-Fi Repeater" (this is the default SSID).
- Once connected, open a web browser and enter the default access IP address: 192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
- Enter the default username and password, which are both "admin".
Method 2: Wired Connection (Recommended for initial setup)
- Connect one end of the provided network cable to the Ethernet port on the LV-UE03.
- Connect the other end of the network cable to your computer's Ethernet port.
- Ensure your computer's Ethernet adapter is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
- Open a web browser and enter the default access IP address: 192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
- Enter the default username and password, which are both "admin".
4. Operating Modes
The LV-UE03 supports two main operating modes:
4.1. Repeater Mode (Range Extender)
In Repeater mode, the device extends the coverage of an existing wireless network. It receives the wireless signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, effectively expanding the Wi-Fi signal to areas with weak or no coverage.
- Access the web configuration interface (192.168.10.1).
- Select "Repeater Mode" from the setup wizard or mode selection menu.
- The device will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your main Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter the password for your main Wi-Fi network.
- You can choose to keep the same SSID as your main network or create a new one for the extended network.
- Save the settings and wait for the device to restart.
- Once restarted, the LV-UE03 will extend your Wi-Fi signal.
4.2. AP Mode (Access Point)
In AP mode, the device transforms a wired internet connection into a wireless network. This is useful for adding Wi-Fi capability to a wired-only network or creating a new Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Access the web configuration interface (192.168.10.1).
- Select "AP Mode" from the setup wizard or mode selection menu.
- Connect the LV-UE03's Ethernet port to your router or modem's LAN port using the provided network cable.
- Configure the new wireless network's SSID (network name) and password.
- Save the settings and wait for the device to restart.
- Once restarted, the LV-UE03 will broadcast a new Wi-Fi network.
5. Configuration and Advanced Settings
After initial setup, you can access the web interface at 192.168.10.1 (username/password: admin/admin) to modify advanced settings.
- Wireless Settings: Change SSID, security type (WPA/WPA2), and password.
- Network Settings: Configure IP address, subnet mask, and DHCP server settings (if applicable).
- System Tools: Reboot, restore factory settings, upgrade firmware, change login password.
It is highly recommended to change the default login password for security reasons.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your LV-UE03 device.
6.1. Cannot Access the Web Management Page
- Ensure the device is properly powered on and the LED indicator is stable.
- Verify your computer or mobile device is connected to the LV-UE03's Wi-Fi network (default "Wi-Fi Repeater") or directly via Ethernet cable.
- Confirm that you are entering 192.168.10.1 correctly in your browser's address bar.
- Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or use a different browser.
- Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer.
6.2. No Internet Access After Setup
- In Repeater mode, ensure you selected the correct main Wi-Fi network and entered its password accurately.
- Check if your main router has internet access.
- Relocate the LV-UE03 closer to your main router to ensure a strong signal for the repeater.
- In AP mode, ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected from your main router/modem to the LV-UE03's Ethernet port, and that your main router/modem is providing internet.
- Reboot both your main router and the LV-UE03.
6.3. Weak Signal or Frequent Disconnections
- Place the LV-UE03 in an optimal location, ideally halfway between your main router and the area where you need extended coverage. Avoid physical obstructions like thick walls or metal objects.
- Minimize interference from other electronic devices (e.g., cordless phones, microwaves).
- Ensure your main router's Wi-Fi signal is strong enough at the LV-UE03's location.
6.4. How to Reset to Factory Defaults
If you forget your login password or encounter persistent issues, you can reset the device to its factory default settings:
- With the device powered on, use a paperclip or a thin pin to press and hold the "RESET" button for approximately 5-10 seconds.
- Release the button when the LED indicator flashes rapidly or changes state.
- The device will reboot with factory default settings (SSID: "Wi-Fi Repeater", IP: 192.168.10.1, Username/Password: "admin").
