3. Operating Instructions

3.2 Using the Expression Pedal

The integrated expression pedal allows for real-time control over various effect parameters, such as volume, wah, or modulation speed. The function of the expression pedal can be assigned and customized within each patch.

3.3 Looper Functionality

The A1X FOUR includes a looper for recording and overdubbing audio phrases up to 30 seconds (64 beats) in length. Use the dedicated REC/PLAY and STOP footswitches to control the looper.

3.4 Rhythm Patterns

The unit features 68 built-in rhythm patterns. Press the RHYTHM button to access and select different patterns. These can be used for practice or as a backing track for the looper.

3.5 Using the MAA-1 Mic Amp (Optional Accessory)

The Zoom MAA-1 Mic Amp (sold separately) can be used to connect a dynamic microphone to the A1X FOUR's input, expanding its use for vocals or other acoustic instruments with microphones. Connect the MAA-1 to the INPUT jack of the A1X FOUR, then connect your microphone to the MAA-1.

To clean the unit, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents, as these can damage the finish and internal components. Ensure the unit is powered off and disconnected from all power sources before cleaning.

4.2 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace all four AA batteries. Always replace with new batteries of the same type. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
