6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Data Transfer (Connected to Computer)
Once the docking station is set up and connected to your computer, the inserted hard drive will appear as an external drive. You can now drag and drop files, perform backups, or access data as you would with any other external storage device.
- The Active LED will flash during data transfer to indicate activity.
- For optimal performance, ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer.
- Always use the "Safely Remove Hardware" option (Windows) or "Eject" (Mac) before disconnecting the docking station or removing the drive to prevent data corruption.
6.2. Offline Cloning (Standalone Duplication)
The Cinolink docking station supports offline cloning, allowing you to duplicate a hard drive without connecting to a computer. This feature is available on dual-bay models. For single-bay models, this feature is not applicable.
Note: The current product is a Single Bay model. Offline cloning functionality is not available for this specific model (HA131).
If you have a dual-bay model, the general steps for offline cloning are:
- Disconnect USB: Ensure the USB cable is NOT connected to any computer.
- Power Off: Make sure the docking station is powered off.
- Insert Drives: Insert the Source Drive (the drive you want to copy FROM) into the Source slot and the Target Drive (the drive you want to copy TO) into the Target slot. Ensure the Target Drive has equal or larger capacity than the Source Drive.
- Power On: Turn on the docking station.
- Start Cloning: Press and hold the "Start" button (usually on the back) for approximately 3 seconds until the cloning progress LEDs illuminate. Release the button.
- Monitor Progress: The progress LEDs (e.g., 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) will indicate the cloning status. Do not interrupt the process.
- Completion: Once the 100% LED is solid, the cloning process is complete. Power off the docking station and safely remove the drives.
Important: All data on the Target Drive will be erased during the cloning process. Back up any important data on the Target Drive before proceeding.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the docking station. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Storage: When not in use, store the docking station in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling Drives: Always handle hard drives with care. Avoid touching the circuit board or connectors.
