Setup
1. Hardware Connection
- Connect the Proxmark3 V3.0 Easy module to your computer using the provided USB cable.
- Ensure the device is recognized by your operating system.
2. Software and Firmware Installation
The Proxmark3 requires specific client software and firmware to operate. It is highly recommended to use the Iceman firmware for enhanced functionality and ongoing support. Refer to the official Proxmark3 community resources and documentation for detailed installation guides specific to your operating system (Windows, Linux, macOS).
Note: The device supports ICEMAN RDV4 firmware. Initial setup often involves flashing the latest firmware. Community forums and guides are valuable resources for this process.

Operating Instructions
The Proxmark3 V3.0 Easy operates in various modes for both High Frequency (HF) and Low Frequency (LF) RFID cards. Interaction is primarily via a command-line interface (CLI) through the Proxmark3 client software.
High Frequency (HF) Operations (13.56 MHz)
HF operations involve interacting with 13.56 MHz cards such as Mifare Classic, Ultralight, and DESFire.
1. Operating Card Mode
- Conventional M1 S50 Card Reader: Supports reading and interacting with 14443A Class B cards.
- PRNG Vulnerability Parsing: Utilizes PRNG vulnerabilities to analyze Sector 0 of Mifare Classic cards.
- Nested (mfoc) Vulnerability: Resolves the entire card data using nested attacks.
2. Analog Card Mode
- Analog UID: Emulates UID of Mi series S50 / Ultralight / DESFire cards.
- Analog M1 S50 Data: Emulates entire sector data of M1 S50 cards (requires a card reader).
- Analog M1 S50 Housing: Emulates M1 S50 card housing to obtain data for secret key calculation (requires a card reader).
3. Silent Mode
- M1 S50 Sniffer: Silently sniffs data communication between M1 S50 cards and readers to analyze secret keys.
- 14443A Class B Sniffer: Silently sniffs complete communication data between 14443A Class B cards and readers.
These modes are useful for debugging and behavior analysis of RFID systems.
Low Frequency (LF) Operations (125 kHz / 134.2 kHz)
LF operations involve interacting with 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz cards such as T55XX, Indala, and H-ID.
1. Operating Card Mode
- Read T55XX, Indala: Reads data from T55XX, Indala, and other low-frequency cards.
- T55XX Card Write: Writes Indala data to T55XX cards, converting them into different card types.
2. Analog Card Mode
- Enter Card Analog: Emulates a specified card type.
- Analog Modulation Schemes: Emulates specified data cards and ASK / FSK / PSK modulation schemes.
3. Silent Mode
- Sniff Data: Silently sniffs data between the card and the reader (limited functionality, not extensively tested).
Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install the latest firmware updates from the official Proxmark3 community. Updates often include bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features.
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid liquid cleaners.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- USB Cable: Use the provided USB cable or a high-quality replacement to ensure stable power and data transfer.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Device Not Recognized:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the Proxmark3 and the computer.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Install or update USB drivers if necessary.
- Firmware Flashing Issues:
- Follow the specific firmware flashing instructions carefully, often involving putting the device into bootloader mode.
- Ensure you are using the correct firmware version for your Proxmark3 Easy model.
- Consult the Proxmark3 community forums for assistance with specific error messages.
- Unable to Read/Write Cards:
- Verify the card is placed correctly on the appropriate antenna (LF or HF).
- Ensure the correct operating mode and commands are being used for the card type.
- Check antenna connections if the device has removable antennas.
- Some cards may have anti-cloning measures or require specific techniques.
- "Hardware Version Conflict" Message:
- This can sometimes occur after firmware updates. If the device functions correctly otherwise, it may not be a critical issue. However, ensure the firmware is compatible with your hardware revision.
