Follow these steps carefully for proper installation of your SARTODOORS Planum 2102 door.
- Check Completeness: Before starting, ensure all product components are present as listed in Section 3. Refer to Video 1 (0:28-0:45) for visual guidance.
- Measure the Opening: Accurately measure the width and height of your door opening. Ensure the opening is plumb and level. Refer to Video 1 (0:45-1:42) for detailed measurement instructions. The rough opening should be: Door slab width + 2" (recommended) and Door slab height + 2" (recommended from finished floor).

Figure 2: Rough Opening Dimensions
- Cut the Jambs: Cut the door jambs to the required length 'L' using a miter saw. The formula for 'L' is H + 7/8" + Y, where H is door leaf height and Y is the gap between the door leaf and the floor. Refer to Video 1 (1:42-2:01).
- Drill and Mill Latch/Strike Plate Seats: Prepare the door slab for the latch and strike plate by drilling and milling the necessary seats. Refer to Video 1 (2:01-2:23).
- Mark and Drill Hinges on Door Leaf: Mark the positions for the hinges on the door leaf. The top hinge should be 7-7/8 inches from the top of the door leaf (measure to the top of the hinge barrel). The bottom hinge should be 7-7/8 inches from the bottom of the door leaf (measure to the bottom of the hinge barrel). Drill the holes according to the markings. Refer to Video 1 (2:23-3:28).

- Cut Top Door Jamb: Cut the top door jamb to fit the door being installed. Ensure to cut at a 45-degree angle. Refer to Video 1 (3:28-3:41).
- Connect Top and Side Jambs: Cut the rubber bands of the seal and connect the top and side door jambs. Refer to Video 1 (3:41-4:04).
- Screw Head and Jambs: Pre-drill holes before screwing. Screw together the head and the jambs. Use at least two self-tapping screws on each side. Refer to Video 1 (4:04-4:52).
- Mark and Drill Hinges on Hinge Jamb: Mark the hinges fastening holes on the hinge jamb. The top hinge should be 8 inches from the jamb chamfer (measure to the top of the hinge barrel). The bottom hinge should be 7-7/8 inches + Y from the bottom edge of the jamb. Drill the holes according to the marking. Refer to Video 1 (4:52-5:24).
- Insert and Fasten Doorframe: Insert the assembled doorframe into the opening. Fasten it to the wall with at least three screws at each side (top, middle, and bottom). To prevent frame deflection, the gasket must be installed between the doorframe and the wall wedges. Refer to Video 1 (5:24-5:58).
- Insert Weather Strip: Insert the weather strip (seal) into the doorframe groove. Refer to Video 1 (5:58-6:07).
- Insert Door Leaf and Fix Hinges: Carefully insert the door leaf into the doorframe. Fix the hinges with the screws in the pre-marked places. Refer to Video 1 (6:07-6:39).
- Install Door Latch and Handles: Install the door latch and the handles according to the installation instructions provided with the hardware. Fit and fasten the strike plate. Refer to Video 1 (6:39-7:36).
- Install Casings: Cut off the side casing to ensure they are higher than the doorframe by 9/16". Remove the lateral leg to fit the side casing. Apply adhesive on the inner side of the casing leg. Insert the side casing into the groove of the doorframe. Measure the distance between the side casing. Cut off the head casing of required length. Apply adhesive on the inner side of the casing leg. Insert the top casing into the groove of the doorframe. Refer to Video 1 (7:36-8:50).
