1. Product Overview

The Polardo Ultrasonic Cool & Warm Mist Humidifier (Model HMP-01) is designed to enhance indoor air quality by providing both cool and warm mist. 2. Safety Information

• Always place the humidifier on a firm, flat, waterproof surface at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls and appliances.
• Do not place the humidifier directly on carpet, wood, or finished surfaces that may be damaged by water or moisture.
• Use only clean, cool tap water or distilled water. Do not use hot water.
• Never add essential oils directly into the water tank. Use only the designated aroma box.
• Unplug the unit before filling, cleaning, or moving.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Do not block air vents.
• If the unit emits unusual sounds or smells, unplug it immediately and contact customer support.

3. Setup and First Use

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
2. Placement: Place the humidifier on a stable, level surface.
3. Fill Water Tank:
   • Remove the top lid.
   • Lift the water tank from the base.
   • Turn the tank upside down and unscrew the valve cap counter-clockwise.
   • Fill the tank with clean, cool distilled or demineralized water. Avoid tap water if it has high mineral content to prevent white dust.
   • Screw the valve cap clockwise until tight.
   • Place the water tank back onto the base, ensuring it is seated correctly.
   • Replace the top lid.

4. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet. The unit is now ready for operation.

• Power On/Off: Touch the ON/OFF button to turn the humidifier on or off.
• Mist Mode Selection:
  • Touch the COOL MIST button for cool mist.
  • Touch the WARM MIST button for warm mist. Warm mist production may take approximately 20 minutes to begin.
• Mist Speed Adjustment: While in Cool Mist or Warm Mist mode, repeatedly touch the respective mist button to cycle through low, medium, and high-speed settings.
• Anion Function: Touch the ANION button to activate or deactivate the air ionization feature.
• Automatic Shut-off: The humidifier will automatically turn off when the water tank is empty. The ON/OFF indicator light will change from blue to red, and you will hear five beeping sounds.
• Aroma Box Usage:
  • Remove the top lid of the humidifier.
  • Locate the aroma box (usually a small compartment with a sponge) on the top of the base unit.
  • Apply 3-5 drops of essential oil directly onto the sponge in the aroma box.
  • Replace the lid.
  • Caution: Do not add essential oils directly into the water tank, as this can damage the unit.

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your humidifier.

5.1 Cleaning the Unit

1. Drain Water: Unplug the humidifier. Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water from both the tank and the base unit.
2. Descale the Base: If mineral deposits are visible around the heating element or if the unit produces a whistling sound, it requires descaling.
   • Pour white vinegar into the base, covering the heating element and any mineral deposits.
   • Let it sit for a few hours or overnight.
   • Use a small brush (e.g., a bottle brush) to gently scrub away deposits.
   • Rinse the base thoroughly with tap water, ensuring all vinegar and loosened deposits are removed.
3. Clean Water Tank: Rinse the water tank with tap water. If there's an odor, add a teaspoon of bleach or vinegar, swirl it around, then rinse thoroughly.
4. Clean Plastic Components: If any plastic pieces (e.g., mist nozzle, lid) have deposits, remove them and clean with vinegar or a mild detergent, then rinse well.
5. Wipe Reservoir: Use a brush or cloth to wipe down the inside of the water tank reservoir to prevent bacterial or mold buildup.

5.2 Filter Maintenance

• Water Filters: The ceramic and activated carbon water filters do not require replacement. Simply rinse them with tap water occasionally during tank refills or cleaning.
• Air Filter: The antibacterial air filter is located at the bottom of the humidifier.
  • Turn the humidifier upside down.
  • Open the air filter box cover.
  • Remove the old filter and insert a new one.
  • Close the box cover.
  • It is recommended to replace the air filter annually.
