4. Assembly and Setup
4.1 Battery Charging
Before first use, ensure the 40V Li-ion battery is fully charged. Use only the compatible Ferrex 40V battery charger.
- Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet.
- Insert the 40V Li-ion battery into the charger. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- The charging indicator lights on the charger will show the charging status. Refer to the charger's specific manual for detailed indicator meanings.
- Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

4.2 Attaching Tubes and Collection Bag
The device can be configured for blowing or vacuuming/mulching. Always ensure the battery is removed before assembly.
For Blowing Mode:
- Attach the blower tube to the outlet opening of the motor unit. Ensure it is securely locked.
- Attach the adjustable shoulder strap to the designated points on the motor unit for comfortable carrying.
For Vacuuming/Mulching Mode:
- Attach the vacuum tube to the intake opening of the motor unit. Ensure it is securely locked.
- Attach the collection bag to the outlet opening. Ensure the quick-release mechanism is properly engaged.
- The front wheels should be attached to the vacuum tube for easier ground-level operation.
- Attach the adjustable shoulder strap for support.
5. Operation
Always wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, long pants, sturdy shoes) during operation.
5.1 Starting and Stopping
- Insert the charged 40V Li-ion battery into the battery slot on the motor unit until it clicks into place.
- To start the device, press the ON/OFF switch.
- To stop the device, release or press the ON/OFF switch again (depending on the switch type).
5.2 Blowing Mode
Use this mode to clear leaves and light debris from hard surfaces, driveways, and patios.
- Ensure the device is configured for blowing mode (blower tube attached, collection bag removed).
- Hold the unit firmly with both hands.
- Sweep the blower tube from side to side, directing the airflow to move debris into piles.
5.3 Vacuuming and Mulching Mode
Use this mode to collect leaves and debris into the collection bag, where they will be mulched.
- Ensure the device is configured for vacuuming mode (vacuum tube and collection bag attached).
- Hold the unit firmly and use the front wheels to guide it along the ground.
- Move the vacuum tube slowly over the leaves and debris. The mulching function will reduce the volume of collected material.
- Empty the collection bag when it is full. Always switch off the device and remove the battery before emptying the bag.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your device. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the exterior of the device with a damp cloth. Remove any debris from the air vents, tubes, and collection bag.
