3. Product Overview

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
Each walkie talkie requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the belt clip on the back of the walkie talkie. If attached, push the belt clip tab upwards and slide the clip off.
- Gently push down on the battery compartment cover latch and slide the cover downwards to remove it.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.
- Reattach the belt clip if desired by sliding it onto the designated slot until it locks.

Note: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To turn on: Press and hold the Power On/Off button until the LCD screen illuminates.
- To turn off: Press and hold the Power On/Off button until the LCD screen turns off.
5.2 Volume Adjustment
The volume can be adjusted using the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons when not in menu mode. The current volume level is displayed on the LCD screen.
5.3 Channel Selection
Your walkie talkie has 22 available channels. To change the channel:
- Press the MENU button once. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
- Press the PTT button to confirm the selection and exit menu mode, or press MENU again to move to sub-code setting.
5.4 CTCSS Sub-code Setting
CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) sub-codes help minimize interference from other users on the same channel. Your walkie talkie supports 99 CTCSS sub-codes. To set a sub-code:
- Press the MENU button twice. The sub-code number on the LCD will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select your desired sub-code (0-99). Setting to 0 disables the sub-code.
- Press the PTT button to confirm the selection and exit menu mode, or press MENU again to move to other settings.
Important: Both walkie talkies must be set to the same channel and CTCSS sub-code to communicate.
5.5 Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit: Press and hold the PTT button. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the walkie talkie approximately 2-3 inches from your mouth. The transmit icon will appear on the LCD.
- To receive: Release the PTT button. The receive icon will appear on the LCD when a signal is being received.
5.6 VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
The VOX function allows hands-free transmission. When activated, the walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, without needing to press the PTT button.
- Press the MENU button three times. The VOX icon and sensitivity level will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or turn it off (OF).
- Press the PTT button to confirm and exit.
5.7 Flashlight Function
