Installation Guide
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your ELECTECK thermostat. Please follow these steps carefully.
1. Safety First: Turn Off Power
Before beginning any installation, always turn off the power to your heating and cooling system at the main breaker or fuse box. This prevents electrical shock and damage to your equipment.
2. Remove Old Thermostat
- Carefully remove the cover of your old thermostat.
- Take a picture of the existing wiring connections for reference.
- Label each wire with the provided cable labels according to its terminal designation (e.g., R, C, Y, W, G, O, B).
- Disconnect the wires and remove the old thermostat's mounting plate from the wall.
3. Mount the New Thermostat Base Plate
Position the new thermostat's base plate on the wall where the old thermostat was. Use the included screws and anchors to secure it firmly. Ensure the wires can pass through the opening in the center of the base plate.

4. Wiring Instructions
Connect the labeled wires to the corresponding terminals on the new thermostat's base plate. Refer to the wiring diagram that matches your specific HVAC system type (Heat Pump or Conventional System). The thermostat features easy-to-use pluggable terminals.

5. Install Batteries (Optional for Hardwired Systems)
If you are not using a 24VAC hardwire connection, or as a backup, insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the thermostat unit. Ensure correct polarity.

6. Attach Thermostat to Base Plate
Align the thermostat unit with the mounted base plate and gently push it into place until it clicks securely. Ensure all wires are tucked neatly into the wall cavity.
7. Restore Power
Once the thermostat is securely mounted and wired, turn the power back on at the main breaker or fuse box.

Basic Controls
- Fan Switch: Located on the lower left. Set to "ON" for continuous fan operation or "AUTO" for the fan to run only when heating or cooling is active.
- System Switch: Located on the lower right. Select "COOL" for cooling, "OFF" to turn off the system, or "HEAT" for heating. "EMH" (Emergency Heat) is available for heat pump systems.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the "+" and "-" buttons on the right side of the display to adjust the desired temperature.
Setting Gas/Electric Mode
This setting determines how the thermostat controls the fan during heating cycles. "GAS" is for systems where the furnace controls the fan. "ELEC" is for systems where the thermostat controls the fan.
