Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your WPZ2 camera, especially given its rugged features.

  • Cleaning: After use, especially in saltwater, rinse the camera thoroughly with fresh water. Wipe it dry with a soft, clean cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Seals and Gaskets: Regularly inspect the rubber seals and gaskets around the battery/memory card compartment for any dirt, sand, or damage. Clean them gently if necessary. Ensure they are free of debris before closing the compartment to maintain waterproof integrity.
  • Lens Care: Use a lens cleaning cloth or brush to remove dust and smudges from the lens. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KODAK PIXPRO WPZ2, try the following steps:

  • Camera Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Try removing and reinserting the battery.
  • Memory Card Error: Check if the memory card is inserted correctly. Ensure it is a supported type (microSD/microSDHC, max 32GB, Class 4 or higher). Try formatting the card (this will erase all data).
  • Poor Image Quality: Check the lens for smudges or dirt. Ensure you are using the appropriate shooting mode for your environment. Verify lighting conditions are adequate.
  • Water Leakage: Immediately power off the camera and remove the battery. Thoroughly dry the camera and inspect all seals and gaskets for damage or debris. If damage is found, contact customer support.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Issues: Ensure Wi-Fi mode is activated on the camera. Check your smart device's Wi-Fi settings and ensure it's connected to the camera's network. Restart both devices if necessary.
