1. Introduction and Overview

The Sangean WR-16SE is a 45th Anniversary Special Edition AM/FM/Bluetooth/Aux-in/USB radio, designed with a solid walnut veneer finish and rose gold accents. 3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the radio and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components listed in the "Included Components" section are present.

3.2 Power Connection

  1. Locate the AC power input on the rear of the radio.
  2. Connect the provided power cord to the radio's AC input.
  3. Plug the other end of the power cord into a standard 120V AC, 60Hz wall outlet.

3.3 Antenna Connection

For optimal FM reception, connect the included external FM wire antenna to the "FM-EXT. 75Ω" terminal on the back of the radio. For AM reception, the radio has a built-in AM antenna. If needed, an external AM antenna can be connected to the "AM-EXT." terminals.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Rotate the VOLUME knob clockwise from the "OFF" position to turn the radio on. Rotate it counter-clockwise to the "OFF" position to turn the radio off.

4.2 AM/FM Radio Tuning

  1. Select either FM or AM using the band selector knob.
  2. Rotate the TUNE knob to select your desired radio station. The tuning indicator will illuminate when a strong signal is received.

4.3 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Switch the band selector knob to BT (Bluetooth) mode. The Bluetooth indicator on the display will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device, search for "Sangean WR-16SE" in the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Select the radio to pair. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
  4. You can now stream audio from your device to the radio.

4.4 Auxiliary Input

To play audio from an external device, connect a 3.5mm audio cable from your device's headphone jack or line-out to the AUX IN port on the back of the radio. Select AUX using the band selector knob.

4.5 USB Phone Charging

Connect your USB charging cable to the CHARGE 5V 1A port on the back of the radio to charge compatible mobile devices. Note that this port is for charging only and does not support data transfer.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the radio's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. For the wooden cabinet, a wood-safe cleaner can be used sparingly if necessary, followed by a dry polish.

5.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disconnect the power cord before storage.
