Setup
Preparing Your Workspace
Choose a stable, flat surface away from drafts and direct sunlight. Covering the surface with newspaper or a protective mat is recommended to prevent any potential spills or stains.
Assembling the Trees
- Carefully remove the flat paper tree structures from their packaging.
- Slot the two halves of each tree together to form a three-dimensional structure. Ensure the slots align properly for a stable tree.
- Place each assembled tree into a tree base. Ensure the tree is seated firmly and upright in the base.

Operating Instructions: Growing Your Crystals
Step 1: Coloring Your Trees
Use the provided watercolor markers to color the branches and trunk of your paper trees. The crystals will absorb the colors you apply, allowing for personalized and vibrant crystal formations. You can create unique patterns and color combinations.

Step 2: Adding the Crystal Growing Liquid
Carefully open one packet of crystal growing liquid. Pour the entire contents of one packet into the base of one tree. Ensure the liquid evenly covers the bottom of the base and makes direct contact with the paper tree structure. Repeat for the second tree with the remaining packet.

Step 3: Observation
Place the tree in a location where it will not be disturbed. Crystals will begin to form on the tree branches within minutes. The trees will typically be fully covered in crystals in approximately 6 hours, creating a beautiful display.

Maintenance: Regrowing Crystals
The crystals formed are delicate. If crystals fall off or you wish to initiate new growth, you can do so by carefully collecting any fallen crystals and placing them back into the tree base. Add a small amount of water to the base, ensuring it covers the crystals. The crystals will begin to regrow, allowing for continued observation and enjoyment.
Troubleshooting
Crystals Not Forming or Growing Slowly
- Ensure proper liquid contact: The crystal growing liquid must be in direct contact with the paper tree structure for capillary action to occur. Verify the tree is properly seated in the base and the liquid level is sufficient.
- Temperature: Crystal growth is sensitive to temperature. Ensure the kit is in a stable room temperature environment, ideally between 68-75°F (20-24°C). Extreme heat or cold can hinder or alter crystal formation.
- Drafts: Avoid placing the growing crystals in drafty areas, as air currents can interfere with the delicate crystallization process.
Solution Already Crystallized in Packet
If the crystal growing liquid has already formed significant crystals within the sealed packet before use, this indicates the solution may have been exposed to conditions that initiated crystallization prematurely. While some minor crystallization might be normal, large formations within the packet can reduce the effectiveness of the kit. If this occurs, please contact customer support for assistance.
