3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Assembling the Double Shoulder Strap

  1. Lay out the Right and Left Main Shoulder Pads.
  2. Attach the Connecting Webbing (chest strap) to the buckles on the front of both shoulder pads. Ensure the buckles click securely into place.
  3. Attach the Lumbar Pad to the back of the shoulder pads using the hook-and-loop fasteners. This pad provides crucial lower back support and helps stabilize the strap.
  4. Connect the Webbing + Hardware Buckle sets to the D-rings at the bottom of each shoulder pad. These will be used to attach your cameras.

3.2 Attaching Cameras

  1. Screw a Quick Release Plate into the 1/4 inch tripod mount on the bottom of each camera. Ensure it is tightened securely.
  2. Attach the carabiner from the Webbing + Hardware Buckle set to the Quick Release Plate on your camera.
  3. Important: Attach a Safety Rope (tether) from the camera's strap lug (or another secure point on the camera body) to a D-ring or secure loop on the main shoulder strap. This provides a critical secondary attachment point in case the primary quick-release connection fails.
  4. Repeat for the second camera.

3.3 Adjusting the Strap

Once the cameras are attached, put on the strap. Adjust the length of the shoulder straps and the chest strap using the buckles until the strap feels snug and comfortable, distributing the weight evenly across your shoulders and back. The cameras should hang freely at your sides, allowing for easy access without excessive swinging.

3.4 Converting to Single Shoulder Straps

The ztowoto Double Shoulder Camera Strap can be easily converted into two single shoulder straps for increased versatility.

  1. Disconnect the Chest Strap: Open the connection belt on the chest by unbuckling it.
  2. Detach the Lumbar Pad: Open the hook-and-loop connection point on the back of the lumbar pad to separate it from the shoulder pads.
  3. Each shoulder pad, along with its attached webbing and quick release system, now functions as an independent single shoulder strap.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Wearing the Strap

After assembly and camera attachment, put on the strap like a backpack. Ensure the shoulder pads sit comfortably on your shoulders and the lumbar pad is positioned correctly on your lower back. Adjust all straps for a snug fit that allows freedom of movement while keeping cameras secure.

4.2 Using Your Cameras

The quick-release system allows you to swiftly bring your camera up to eye level for shooting. When not in use, the cameras will hang at your sides, ready for action. Always ensure the safety tether is properly connected to prevent accidental drops, especially when moving quickly or in crowded environments.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your ztowoto Camera Strap.

  • Cleaning: The neoprene and sandwich net materials can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Allow to air dry completely before storage.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect all buckles, webbing, D-rings, quick release plates, and safety tethers for signs of wear, fraying, cracks, or damage. Pay close attention to the areas where components connect.
  • Storage: Store the strap in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
  • Lubrication: If the quick release mechanism feels stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts, avoiding contact with fabric.
