5. Setup & Installation

5.1 Installation Location

The sensor can be installed using plane installation, internal corner mounting, or outer corner mounting. For optimal performance, consider the following:

  • Installation Height: Mount the sensor between 1.8 to 2.5 meters from the ground.
  • Detection Area: Position the sensor to cover the desired detection area (120-140 degrees, 3-12 meters range). Avoid aiming directly at heat sources or areas with rapid temperature changes, which may cause false triggers.
  • Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions that could block the sensor's field of view.

5.2 Wiring Instructions

IMPORTANT: Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before proceeding with wiring.

The sensor has three wires for connection:

  • Brown Wire (L): Connect to the Live (Phase) wire of the AC power supply.
  • Blue Wire (N): Connect to the Neutral wire of the AC power supply.
  • Red Wire (L1): Connect to the Live (Phase) input of the light fixture.

The Neutral wire from the AC power supply should also be connected directly to the Neutral input of the light fixture.

This diagram illustrates how to connect the sensor's brown (Live), blue (Neutral), and red (Load) wires to the AC power supply and a light fixture. It shows the power input, the sensor, and the light bulb, with clear labels for Live (L), Neutral (N), and Load (L1) connections.

6. Operation

The Lazmin PIR Motion Sensor Switch automatically detects human movement and activates connected lighting. The sensor features adjustable settings for delay time and ambient light sensitivity.

6.1 Adjusting Delay Time

The delay time determines how long the light remains on after motion is no longer detected. This setting is adjustable from 10 seconds (±3 seconds) to 15 minutes (±2 minutes). Refer to the sensor unit for the adjustment dial or switch, typically labeled "TIME".

6.2 Adjusting Ambient Light Sensitivity (LUX)

The ambient light sensitivity (LUX) setting determines the light level at which the sensor will activate. For example, setting it to a low LUX value means the sensor will only activate in dark conditions, while a high LUX value allows it to activate in brighter conditions. This setting is adjustable from <3 LUX (darkness) to 2000 LUX (daylight). Refer to the sensor unit for the adjustment dial or switch, typically labeled "LUX".

  • To operate only at night: Set the LUX control to the minimum (moon symbol).
  • To operate during both day and night: Set the LUX control to the maximum (sun symbol).

7. Maintenance

The Lazmin PIR Motion Sensor Switch requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the sensor lens with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or dirt that may affect performance. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the wiring and mounting for any signs of damage or loosening.
  • Environmental Factors: Ensure the sensor is not exposed to extreme temperatures or direct water jets beyond its IP65 rating.

8. Troubleshooting

If the motion sensor is not functioning as expected, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on when motion is detected.
  • No power to the sensor.
  • Incorrect wiring.
  • LUX setting is too low (sensor thinks it's daytime).
  • Motion not within detection range/angle.
  • Faulty light bulb.
  • Check power supply at the circuit breaker.
  • Verify wiring according to Section 5.2.
  • Adjust LUX setting to a higher value or to the "sun" symbol.
  • Reposition the sensor or test within its specified range.
  • Test the light bulb with a known working power source.
Light stays on continuously.
  • Continuous motion in detection area.
  • Delay time set too long.
  • Sensor malfunction.
  • Ensure no constant movement or heat sources are triggering the sensor.
  • Adjust the delay time to a shorter duration.
  • If the issue persists after checking other causes, the sensor may be faulty.
Light turns on randomly (false triggers).
  • Heat sources (e.g., vents, direct sunlight, moving vehicles).
  • Small animals.
  • Sensor too sensitive.
  • Reposition the sensor to avoid such interference.
  • Adjust the sensor's angle or sensitivity if possible (this model does not explicitly state sensitivity adjustment, only LUX and TIME).
