4. Operating Instructions
The Dioche UHF RFID Reader operates by automatically detecting and reading passive electronic tags within its read range.
4.1 Tag Reading
Once powered and configured, the reader will continuously scan for compatible UHF passive electronic tags. When a tag enters the detection zone, the reader will automatically read its unique identifier and transmit the data to the connected control system via the configured communication interface (USB, RS-232, or Wiegand).
- Read Distance: The reader offers a long reading distance, typically 5-6 meters, with a reliable reading distance of 3 meters. This allows for automatic reading without requiring vehicles or personnel to stop.
- Data Transmission: Data is transmitted at high speeds, up to 115200bps, ensuring efficient processing in access control or other automated systems.

7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Dioche UHF RFID Reader, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the reader with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing.
- Inspect Cables: Regularly check all connected cables for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure cable glands are tight to maintain waterproof integrity.
- Environmental Protection: While the reader is waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion or exposure to extreme conditions beyond its specified operating range (-20°C to +60°C).
- Software Updates: Keep the associated control software updated as recommended by the manufacturer to benefit from performance improvements and new features.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RFID reader, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the reader and the power outlet. Verify the outlet is functional.
- No Tag Reading:
- Ensure the RFID tags are compatible with UHF (18000-6B/EPC) protocols.
- Verify the tag is within the specified read range (0-6 meters).
- Check for any obstructions between the reader and the tag.
- Confirm the reader's frequency settings in the software match the tags.
- Communication Issues:
- Ensure the correct communication cable (USB, RS-232, Wiegand) is properly connected.
- Verify the communication parameters (e.g., baud rate for RS-232) are correctly configured in both the reader software and the connected control system.
- Check for driver installation if using USB connection with a computer.
- Intermittent Reading: This could be due to environmental interference. Ensure the reader is not installed near strong electromagnetic fields or large metal objects that could disrupt the signal.
If problems persist after attempting these steps, please contact customer support.
