Product Overview
The BIRRAY 16.4FT/5M Silicone LED Channel System is a U-shaped, IP67 waterproof tube designed for installing LED strip lights up to 10mm wide. This flexible and cuttable channel provides a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution for both indoor and outdoor ambient lighting applications. It helps protect LED strips and can diffuse light, though LED dots may still be visible depending on the LED strip density.

This image shows a typical application of the silicone LED channel system, integrated into a modern interior design to provide ambient lighting.

Setup and Installation
Proper installation ensures optimal performance and longevity of your LED channel system. Please follow these steps carefully.
1. Preparing the Channel
The silicone channel is flexible and can be cut to your desired length. Ensure the channel is clean and free of debris before inserting the LED strip.

The silicone channel can be easily cut to length using standard scissors or a sharp utility knife. Measure carefully before cutting.
2. Inserting the LED Strip
This process requires careful attention to prevent damage to the LED strip or the channel. It is highly recommended to have two people for this step.
- Lay the tube flat and straight: Ensure there are no knots or twists in the silicone tube.
- Prepare the pull cord: Make sure the pre-installed cotton pull cord is reachable from both ends of the tube.
- Tie the LED strip: Securely tie the LED strip to the tiny rope at one end of the tube. Ensure the connection is firm but does not damage the LED strip.
- Pull the strip through: One person should gently fix the tube end and slowly push the LED strip into the tube. Simultaneously, the second person should gently pull the tiny rope from the other end of the tube to guide the strip through.
Important Considerations:
- LED Strip Width: This channel is designed for LED strips with a width of 10mm or less. Wider strips will not fit.
- Air Blow Gun: For smoother insertion, especially with longer lengths, using a long nozzle air blow gun to assist in passing the strip through is recommended.
- Patience: The fully enclosed silicone structure creates a tight fit. Proceed slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the LED strip.

Step 1: Lay the silicone tube flat and straight, ensuring no knots or twists.

Step 2: Tie the LED strip securely to the pre-installed cotton pull cord at one end of the tube.

Step 3: One person pushes the strip while another pulls the cord to guide the LED strip through the tube.
Video: Demonstrates the process of inserting an LED strip into the silicone channel using the pull cord method. This visual guide can assist with the installation steps.
3. Mounting the Channel
Once the LED strip is inside the channel, you can mount it using the provided clips and screws.
- Position Clips: Determine the desired placement for your LED channel. Mark the positions for the mounting clips along the length of the channel.
- Secure Clips: Use the provided screws to attach the mounting clips to the surface. Ensure they are spaced evenly to provide adequate support for the channel.
- Snap Channel into Clips: Gently press the silicone LED channel into the secured mounting clips until it snaps into place.
- Install End Caps: Place the end caps on both ends of the silicone channel to provide a finished look and additional protection.
Operating Instructions
The BIRRAY Silicone LED Channel System itself does not require specific operation. Its function is to house and protect your LED strip lights. Operation of the lighting system depends entirely on the LED strip and its power supply/controller (not included with this product).
- Ensure your LED strip is correctly connected to a compatible power source and controller.
- Refer to the instruction manual provided with your LED strip lights for specific operating procedures, including power on/off, brightness adjustment, and color changes.
Maintenance
The silicone LED channel system is designed for durability and minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the silicone channel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Waterproof Rating: The IP67 rating ensures protection against dust and temporary immersion in water. However, avoid prolonged submersion or high-pressure water jets.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the channel and mounting clips for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged components as needed.
- Environmental Conditions: While designed for outdoor use, extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight may affect the material over time.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and solutions related to the BIRRAY Silicone LED Channel System.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Difficulty inserting LED strip | LED strip is too wide (over 10mm). Tube is twisted or not laid flat. Insufficient lubrication/assistance. | Ensure LED strip is ≤ 10mm wide. Lay the tube completely flat and straight. Use two people for installation. Consider using a long nozzle air blow gun to assist. |
| Pull cord breaks during installation | Excessive force applied. LED strip is stuck or too tight. | Pull gently and steadily. Ensure the LED strip is not catching on internal surfaces. If the cord breaks, carefully try to retrieve the strip or consider alternative insertion methods (e.g., a thin, flat metal band, though caution is advised to avoid damaging the strip). |
| LED dots are visible through the channel | This is a characteristic of the S0513 model. | The front-glow structure of this specific model may slightly reveal light spots. This is expected behavior and not a defect. For a more diffused, dot-free look, consider models with larger diffusion areas (e.g., 16x16mm if available from the manufacturer). |
| Channel does not bend as desired | Attempting to bend too sharply. | The channel is flexible but has limits. Avoid bending below approximately 140° to prevent warping or a messy appearance. For sharp angles, consider cutting and joining sections. |
| Mounting clips feel flimsy | Perception of material strength. | Ensure clips are spaced appropriately to distribute weight. If additional support is needed for heavy-duty applications, consider supplementary mounting solutions. |
