4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The Magnusson 20m Laser Distance Measurer requires AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert the AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the 'DIST' button once. The laser will activate, and the LCD screen will light up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the 'OFF' button (if available, otherwise the device will automatically shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity).

5.2 Basic Distance Measurement

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Point the laser beam at the target surface from which you want to measure the distance.
  3. Press the 'DIST' button again. The measurement will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5.3 Automatic Shut-off

To conserve battery life, the device will automatically shut off after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity. This includes both the laser and the display.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
