Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your shredder.
Emptying the Waste Bin:
- When the waste bin is full (visible through the transparent window), unplug the shredder.
- Pull out the waste bin from the front of the shredder.
- Dispose of the shredded paper.
- Slide the waste bin back into place until it clicks securely.
Oiling the Shredder Blades:
To maintain shredding performance and prevent jams, oil the shredder blades regularly, especially after emptying the waste bin or after prolonged use.
- Use only shredder oil or the provided lubricant sheets. Do not use aerosol lubricants.
- For lubricant sheets: Feed one sheet into the manual feed slot as you would a piece of paper.
- For liquid oil: Apply a thin line of shredder oil across the paper entry slot. Then, run a few sheets of paper through the shredder to distribute the oil.
Cleaning the Shredder:
- Always unplug the shredder before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the shredder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Do not immerse the shredder in water.
