3. Assembly and Initial Setup

Follow these steps to assemble your antenna. Refer to the included instruction manual for detailed diagrams.

  1. Unfold Base Element: Carefully unfold the base element of the antenna. Ensure all hinged parts lock securely into place.
  2. Attach Director Element: Connect the director element to the base element using the provided screws and wingnuts. Ensure a firm connection.
  3. Install Reflector Panels: Secure the two reflector panels to the antenna frame using the designated mounting points, screws, and wingnuts.
  4. Connect VHF Enhancement Rod: Attach the VHF reception enhancement rod to its designated position on the antenna.

4. Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. Choose a mounting location that is as high as possible and free from obstructions (e.g., trees, buildings) to maximize signal reception. Common locations include rooftops, chimneys, or a dedicated antenna mast.

  1. Mounting the Antenna: Securely attach the assembled antenna to a sturdy pole (not included) using the provided mounting brackets, screws, and wingnuts. Ensure the antenna is level and firmly attached to withstand weather conditions.
  2. Connecting Coaxial Cable: Connect one end of the 40ft RG6 coaxial cable to the antenna's F-connector. Ensure the connection is tight and waterproof.
  3. Connecting to Control Box: Route the coaxial cable to the indoor control box. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the 'ANT IN' port on the control box.
  4. Powering the Control Box: Plug the UL-approved AC adapter into the control box and then into a standard 110-120V AC outlet. The power indicator light on the control box should illuminate.
  5. Connecting to TV(s): Connect a short coaxial cable (not included) from the 'TV1' or 'TV2' output on the control box to the 'ANT IN' or 'CABLE IN' port on your television. If connecting multiple TVs, use the provided 4-way coaxial splitter. Connect the control box output to the splitter's input, and then connect each TV to an output port on the splitter.
