3. Setup and Assembly

The antenna unit comes partially pre-assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly:

  1. Unfold Receiving Elements: Carefully unfold the receiving elements on the base element until they lock into place.
  2. Unfold Director Elements: Extend the director elements from the main boom until they are fully open.
  3. Attach Reflector Panels: Secure the two reflector panels to the rear of the antenna using the provided screws and wingnuts. Ensure they are firmly attached.
  4. Connect VHF Enhancement Rod (if included): If your model includes a VHF enhancement rod, attach it to the designated point on the antenna using the provided hardware.

4. Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal signal reception. A mounting pole is required (not included).

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select an outdoor location, such as a roof, attic, or mast, that provides the clearest line of sight to local broadcast towers. Higher locations generally yield better reception.
  2. Mount the Antenna: Securely attach the antenna to a sturdy mounting pole using the provided brackets and hardware. Ensure the antenna is level and stable.
  3. Connect Coaxial Cable: Connect one end of the 40ft RG6 coaxial cable to the antenna's output port. Run the cable neatly and securely to your indoor control box location, avoiding sharp bends or kinks.
  4. Connect to Control Box: Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the "ANT IN" port on the control box.
  5. Connect to TV: Connect a separate coaxial cable (not included) from the "TV1" or "TV2" output on the control box to the antenna input on your television.
  6. Power the Control Box: Plug the UL-listed power supply into the control box and then into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light on the control box should illuminate.
