1. Overview

The ROCCAT Kain 200 AIMO is a high-performance wireless gaming mouse designed for precision and comfort. It features an ergonomic shape, advanced Titan Click technology for superior click response, and an accurate Owl-Eye Optical sensor adjustable up to 16,000 DPI. The mouse also incorporates AIMO illumination, providing customizable RGB lighting effects, and a robust Titan Wheel 2.0 for defined scrolling. Built with durable Omron switches, it is engineered for longevity and consistent performance during extended gaming sessions.

3. Setup

3.1. Connecting the Mouse

The ROCCAT Kain 200 AIMO can be connected via its included USB cable for wired operation and charging, or wirelessly using the USB receiver.

1. Wired Connection: Connect the Micro-USB end of the charging cable to the mouse and the USB-A end to an available USB port on your PC. The mouse will function immediately and begin charging.
2. Wireless Connection:
   1. Insert the wireless USB receiver into an available USB port on your PC.
   2. Turn on the mouse using the power switch located on the underside of the mouse.
   3. The mouse should automatically connect to the receiver. If not, press the pairing button on the underside of the mouse and on the receiver (if available) to initiate pairing.

3.2. Software Installation (ROCCAT Swarm)

For full customization of DPI settings, button assignments, and AIMO RGB lighting, download and install the ROCCAT Swarm software from the official ROCCAT website (www.roccat.com/pages/software).

1. Visit the ROCCAT software download page.
2. Locate and download the latest version of ROCCAT Swarm compatible with your operating system (Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11).
3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
4. Once installed, launch ROCCAT Swarm to configure your mouse settings.

3.3. Initial Charging

Before first wireless use, it is recommended to fully charge the mouse. Connect the mouse via the USB cable to your PC. The AIMO lighting will indicate charging status (typically pulsing while charging and solid when full).

4. Operating the Mouse

4.1. Basic Functions

• Left Click: Primary action.
• Right Click: Secondary action/context menu.
• Scroll Wheel: Scroll up/down. Can also be clicked for middle-click functionality.
• DPI Button: Located behind the scroll wheel. Press to cycle through pre-set DPI levels. These levels can be customized in ROCCAT Swarm.
• Side Buttons: The ROCCAT Kain 200 features two side buttons (forward/back by default). These can be reprogrammed using ROCCAT Swarm.

4.2. Advanced Customization (ROCCAT Swarm)

The ROCCAT Swarm software provides extensive options for personalizing your Kain 200 AIMO:

• DPI Settings: Adjust DPI steps from 50 to 16,000 DPI.
• Button Assignment: Remap any of the mouse buttons to perform different functions, macros, or launch applications.
• AIMO Illumination: Customize RGB lighting effects, colors, and brightness. AIMO is an intelligent lighting system that reacts to your usage.
• Polling Rate: Adjust the polling rate for optimal responsiveness.
• Profiles: Create and save multiple profiles for different games or applications, allowing for quick switching between configurations.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the mouse. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the mouse. Avoid harsh chemicals.
• Sensor Cleaning: Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse.
• Storage: When not in use, store the mouse in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

• Mouse not responding:
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected or the wireless receiver is properly inserted and the mouse is powered on.
  • Try a different USB port.
  • For wireless mode, ensure the mouse is charged.
  • Re-pair the mouse with the receiver if necessary (refer to Section 3.1).
• Tracking issues:
  • Clean the optical sensor (refer to Section 5).
  • Ensure you are using the mouse on a suitable surface (e.g., a mouse pad).
  • Adjust DPI settings in ROCCAT Swarm.
• Lighting not working:
  • Check lighting settings in ROCCAT Swarm.
  • Ensure the mouse is powered on and connected.
