4. Setup & Installation

4.1 Wall Mounting

4.2 Propane Gas Connection

This heater operates on Liquid Propane (LP) only. A 100-lb. tank or larger with a two-stage adjustable regulator is required and available from your local gas company. Fuel conversion is not permitted.

  1. Locate the propane gas inlet on the heater.
  2. Connect the gas supply line from your propane tank and regulator to the heater's inlet. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Use a gas leak detection solution to check for leaks.
  3. Open the propane tank valve slowly and check for any gas odors.

5. Operating Instructions

The Dyna-Glo BFSS30LPT-2P features thermostatic control and a battery-assisted igniter for convenient operation.

5.1 Ignition

  1. Ensure the propane supply is open.
  2. Press and turn the control knob to the 'PILOT' position.
  3. While holding the knob in, press the battery-assisted igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites. Continue to hold the control knob for approximately 30-60 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
  4. Release the control knob. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat the ignition process.
