What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your Roland AE-01 Aerophone Mini, please ensure all components are present:

Batteries (AA) are required for portable operation and are not included.

Setup

1. Powering On

The Aerophone Mini can be powered by four AA batteries (not included) or via the included USB cable connected to a USB power adapter (not included) or computer.

  1. Insert four AA batteries into the battery compartment on the underside of the instrument, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Alternatively, connect the USB cable to the instrument's USB port and a power source.
  3. Slide the power switch to the "ON" position.

2. Connecting to the Aerophone Mini Plus App

The Aerophone Mini Plus app (available for iOS and Android) significantly expands the instrument's capabilities, offering additional sounds, lessons, and practice tools. Bluetooth connectivity is used for this connection.

  1. Download and install the "Aerophone Mini Plus" app from your device's app store.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
  3. On the Aerophone Mini, slide the Bluetooth switch to the "ON" position. The Bluetooth indicator light will blink.
  4. Open the Aerophone Mini Plus app. The app will automatically search for and connect to your instrument. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light on the instrument will glow solid.

Operating Instructions

1. Onboard Sounds

The Aerophone Mini comes with six built-in sounds that can be accessed directly from the instrument without the app. These include various wind instrument tones.

To change the onboard sound, press the "TONE" button repeatedly to cycle through the available sounds.

2. Fingering

The Aerophone Mini utilizes a simple recorder-style fingering system, making it intuitive for those familiar with recorders or easy to learn for new players. The app provides visual guides for fingering for each note.

3. Using the Aerophone Mini Plus App

The companion app unlocks the full potential of your Aerophone Mini:
