Setup and Installation
1. Installation Considerations
The Pioneer DEH-S1200UB is a 1-DIN receiver. Ensure your vehicle's dashboard has a compatible opening. A 1-DIN receiver is 2 inches tall, while a 2-DIN receiver is 4 inches tall. This unit is designed for a single-DIN slot.

2. Wiring Diagram
Refer to the included wiring harness for connections. Typical connections include:
- Yellow: Constant 12V (Battery)
- Red: Switched 12V (Ignition)
- Black: Ground
- Blue/White: Remote Turn-On (for amplifier/power antenna)
- Orange/White: Illumination
- Speaker Wires (e.g., White/White-Black for Front Left, Gray/Gray-Black for Front Right, Green/Green-Black for Rear Left, Purple/Purple-Black for Rear Right)
Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before beginning installation.
3. Mounting the Unit
Insert the metal mounting sleeve into the dashboard opening. Bend the tabs outward to secure it. Slide the DEH-S1200UB unit into the sleeve until it locks into place. Attach the trim ring.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Controls

- Power/Source Button (SRC): Press to turn on/off, press briefly to switch audio sources (CD, USB, AUX, Tuner).
- Volume Knob: Rotate to adjust volume. Press to access audio settings.
- BASS Boost Button: Press to activate or deactivate bass boost.
- EQ Button: Press to cycle through preset equalizer curves (e.g., Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Flat, Custom).
- Band/Dimmer Button: In tuner mode, press to switch radio bands (FM1, FM2, FM3, AM). Press and hold to adjust display dimmer.
- Track/Folder Buttons (<< / >>): Skip tracks/chapters, or navigate folders on USB.
- Number Buttons (1-6): Store and recall radio presets.
- USB Port: Connect USB devices for audio playback and charging.
- AUX Input: Connect external audio players via a 3.5mm stereo jack.
2. Media Playback
The DEH-S1200UB supports CD, USB, and AUX playback. It is compatible with FLAC, MP3, WAV, WMA, and AAC audio formats.

CD Playback:
Insert a CD into the disc slot. Playback will begin automatically. Use the track buttons to skip tracks.
USB Playback:
Connect a USB storage device to the front USB port. The unit will automatically switch to USB source and begin playback. Use the track buttons to navigate. Compatible with Android devices for basic control (next track, play/pause).
AUX Playback:
Connect an external audio player to the front AUX input using a 3.5mm stereo cable. Select AUX as the source using the SRC button.
3. Radio Operation
Press the SRC button to select the Tuner source. Use the Band button to switch between FM1, FM2, FM3, and AM bands. Use the seek buttons to find stations. Press and hold seek buttons for manual tuning.
Storing Presets:
Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the number buttons (1-6) until the station number flashes on the display.
4. Audio Settings
Press the volume knob to enter the audio menu. Rotate the knob to navigate options such as Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader, Loudness, and Subwoofer control (if connected to preamp outputs). Press the knob to select an option, then rotate to adjust the value.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Unit
Wipe the front panel with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, dampen the cloth with water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
2. Detaching the Faceplate
The faceplate is detachable for security. Press the release button (usually near the top left of the faceplate) and gently pull the faceplate off. Store it in the included case to prevent scratches.
3. Replacing the Remote Control Battery
The remote control uses a CR2025 lithium battery. If the remote stops responding, replace the battery by sliding out the battery tray on the back of the remote.
