3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

Each walkie talkie requires three AA rechargeable batteries (included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:

Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
Push the tab on the battery cover and slide it downwards to remove.

4. Operating Instructions

4.5 Transmitting and Receiving

To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) Button. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
To receive, ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive signals on the selected channel and privacy code.

4.6 Keypad Lock

The keypad lock prevents accidental changes to your settings.

To activate the keypad lock, press and hold the Call/Lock Button until a lock icon appears on the display. Only the PTT button will function when locked.
To deactivate the keypad lock, press and hold the Call/Lock Button again until the lock icon disappears.

4.7 NOAA Weather Alert

The M920 can scan 17 available NOAA weather (WX) band channels and alert you to severe weather updates.

To activate NOAA Weather Scan, press and hold the NOAA/Scan Button. The radio will automatically scan for the strongest weather channel.
When a severe weather alert is issued, the radio will sound an alarm.
