1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The ProSensor M10 requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Initial Placement

Before scanning, place the unit firmly against the wall where you intend to begin your scan. Ensure the entire back surface of the stud finder is flat against the wall.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Operation

  1. Place the ProSensor M10 flat against the wall.
  2. Press and hold the button located on the side of the unit. The LEDs will quickly illuminate, indicating the unit is ready for scanning.
  3. Slowly slide the unit horizontally across the wall. As the unit approaches a stud, the red LEDs will illuminate in sequence, indicating proximity.
  4. When the center LED turns green, you have located the center of a stud. Mark this spot with a pencil using the notch at the top of the unit.

3.2 Important Tips for Accuracy

  • Hand Placement: Ensure your fingers are placed on the handle, not over the sensor area, as hand placement can affect performance.
  • Continuous Contact: Maintain continuous contact with the wall; do not lift the unit during scanning. Lifting the unit can cause inaccurate readings.
  • Wall Conditions: Avoid scanning over areas with moisture, metallic wallpaper, or metallic-backed insulation, as these can interfere with detection.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

Replace the two (2) AAA batteries when the unit no longer illuminates consistently or provides unreliable readings. Always dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

5.2 Cleaning and Storage

  • Wipe the unit with a dry, soft cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the unit.
  • Store the ProSensor M10 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the wall surface is free of moisture, metallic wallpaper, or metallic-backed insulation. Re-scan the area slowly and consistently. Hand placement can also affect readings; ensure fingers are on the designated handle area.
  • Unit Not Turning On: Check battery orientation and ensure batteries are fresh. Replace if necessary.
  • No Detection: Ensure the unit is pressed firmly against the wall and the button is held down continuously during scanning.
