4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all packaging materials from the machine.
- Check that all components are present and undamaged.
- Clean the water tank, portafilter, and filters with warm water and mild detergent before first use. Rinse thoroughly.
4.2 Filling the Water Tank
- Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicator. Do not use hot water or other liquids.
- Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.
4.3 First Use / Priming the System
Before making coffee for the first time, or if the machine has not been used for a long period, prime the system:
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. The power indicator will light up.
- Place a cup under the portafilter outlet (without coffee).
- Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button. Water will flow through the system. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
- Turn the steam knob to the steam position and let water flow through the steam nozzle for a few seconds to prime the steam circuit.
- The machine is now ready for use.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Pre-heating Cups
For optimal coffee temperature, use the cup warmer tray on top of the machine.

5.2 Making Espresso (Ground Coffee)
- Ensure the machine is powered on and the water tank is filled.
- Insert the desired filter (1-cup or 2-cup) into the portafilter.
- Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter. Use the measuring spoon (approximately 7g for 1 cup, 14g for 2 cups).
- Evenly distribute and tamp the coffee firmly with the tamper end of the measuring spoon.
- Wipe any excess coffee from the rim of the portafilter.
- Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right until it locks.
- Place one or two pre-heated cups under the portafilter spouts.
- Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button on the touch screen. The machine will brew the coffee and stop automatically.
- Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the portafilter (it will be hot). Discard the used coffee grounds.
5.3 Making Espresso (Single-Dose Pods)
- Ensure the machine is powered on and the water tank is filled.
- Insert the special filter for single-dose pods into the portafilter.
- Place one ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) pod into the filter.
- Attach the portafilter to the brewing head and lock it into place.
- Place a pre-heated cup under the portafilter spout.
- Press the 1-cup button. The machine will brew the coffee and stop automatically.
- Remove the portafilter and discard the used pod.
5.4 Frothing Milk for Cappuccino
- Fill a metal frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to one-third full.
- Press the Steam button on the touch screen. The indicator will blink while heating, then remain solid when ready.
- Position the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk.
- Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
- Once desired foam and temperature are reached, turn the steam knob off.
- Press the Steam button again to turn off the steam function.
- Immediately clean the steam nozzle with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

5.5 Dispensing Hot Water for Infusions
- Place a cup under the steam nozzle.
- Press the Hot Water button on the touch screen.
- Turn the steam knob to dispense hot water.
- Turn the steam knob off when the desired amount of water is dispensed.
- Press the Hot Water button again to turn off the function.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filters under running water.
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray regularly.
- Steam Nozzle: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam nozzle with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly release steam to clear any internal blockages.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6.2 Water Tank
Clean the water tank periodically with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
6.3 Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in the machine, affecting performance. Descale your machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently in areas with hard water.
