Powering the Device
The alarm clock can be powered by the included AC adapter or by batteries for backup.
- Primary Power: Plug the included AC power adapter into the DC IN port on the back of the alarm clock and then into a standard wall outlet. The display will light up.
- Battery Backup: For power outage protection, insert 2 AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Note that the clock display will not stay lit and no adjustments can be made when powered solely by batteries; they are for retaining settings during a power interruption.

Connecting the Wireless Remote Sensor
The wireless remote sensor provides outdoor temperature and humidity readings.
- Place the wireless remote sensor outdoors in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and rain. Ensure it is within 200 feet (60 meters) of the main alarm clock unit.
- Ensure the channel number on the clock matches the channel number set on the sensor (usually a switch inside the sensor's battery compartment).
- The clock will automatically search for and connect to the sensor. A flashing signal icon on the display indicates searching, and a solid icon indicates a successful connection.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your DR.PREPARE Projection Alarm Clock, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the clock unit and remote sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical agents, as these may damage the surfaces.
- Placement: Keep the main unit in a dry indoor environment. Ensure the remote sensor is placed in a location protected from extreme weather conditions, though it is designed to be splash-proof.
- Battery Replacement: If using battery backup, replace AAA batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears to ensure settings are retained during power outages.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or high humidity, which can affect performance and lifespan.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display or dim display | AC adapter not connected or faulty; batteries drained (if only on backup). | Ensure AC adapter is securely plugged in. If using battery backup, replace AAA batteries. Adjust screen brightness setting. |
| No outdoor temperature reading | Remote sensor out of range; sensor batteries drained; interference; channel mismatch. | Move sensor closer to the main unit. Replace sensor batteries. Ensure no large metal objects or electronics are between units. Verify channel settings match. Re-establish connection by holding the sensor's reset button or following pairing instructions. |
| Projection is blurry or unclear | Projection distance too far; room too bright. | Ensure projection surface is within 10 feet. Dim the room lights for better visibility. |
| Alarm not sounding | Alarm not activated; volume too low; incorrect alarm time set. | Check alarm ON/OFF switches. Verify alarm time is correctly set. |
