4.1 Wall Mounting (Optional)

The surge protector can be mounted to a wall or desk using the keyhole slots on its back.

  1. Mark Mounting Points: Measure the distance between the keyhole slots on the back of the surge protector. Mark these points on your desired mounting surface.
  2. Install Screws: Insert two screws (not included) into the marked points, leaving a small portion of the screw head exposed. Ensure the screws are appropriate for your wall material.
  3. Mount the Surge Protector: Align the keyhole slots on the back of the surge protector with the exposed screw heads. Slide the surge protector down to secure it in place.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your surge protector:

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the surge protector from the wall outlet and all connected devices before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the cord and housing for any signs of damage, such as fraying, cuts, or cracks. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
  • Overload Prevention: Avoid overloading the surge protector by connecting too many high-power devices. The integrated circuit breaker will trip if an overload occurs.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your surge protector, try these solutions:

  • No Power to Devices:
    • Check if the surge protector's power switch is in the 'ON' position.
    • Ensure the surge protector is securely plugged into a working wall outlet.
    • If the circuit breaker has tripped (often indicated by a recessed button or switch), reset it by pressing it back in or flipping the switch. Reduce the load by unplugging some devices before resetting.
  • Surge Protection Indicator Off: If your model has a surge protection indicator and it is off, the surge protection components may have absorbed a significant surge and are no longer active. The unit will still function as a power strip but will not provide surge protection. It is recommended to replace the unit.
  • Loose Connections: Ensure all device plugs are fully inserted into the surge protector outlets.
