3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

The PARKSIDE PSSA 4 A1 is powered by an integrated Lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery. The battery is partially charged from the factory.

  1. Connect the USB charger to the charging port on the screwdriver.
  2. Plug the USB charger into a suitable power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer USB port).
  3. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and change color or turn off when fully charged (refer to the specific indicator behavior in your product's quick start guide if available).
  4. Charging time may vary. Do not overcharge the battery.

Note: Use only the supplied USB charger or a compatible charger with the correct voltage and current specifications.

3.2 Installing Screwdriver Bits

The screwdriver uses standard 1/4-inch hex shank bits.

  1. Ensure the screwdriver is switched off and the rotation direction switch is in the neutral (locked) position.
  2. Insert the desired screwdriver bit firmly into the magnetic bit holder at the front of the tool until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove a bit, simply pull it straight out from the bit holder.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

To operate the screwdriver, press and hold the trigger switch. Release the trigger switch to turn the screwdriver off.

4.2 Selecting Rotation Direction

A slide switch located near the trigger controls the rotation direction (forward/reverse) and also acts as a lock.

  • Slide the switch to the left for forward rotation (for tightening screws).
  • Slide the switch to the right for reverse rotation (for loosening screws).
  • Position the switch in the center to lock the trigger and prevent accidental activation.

4.3 LED Work Light

The integrated LED work light automatically illuminates when the trigger switch is pressed, providing visibility in dimly lit work areas.

4.4 Adjusting Handle Position

The handle of the PSSA 4 A1 can be adjusted to two positions: straight or pistol grip.

  1. To change the handle position, locate the pivot release button (often red or clearly marked) near the handle joint.
  2. Press and hold the release button.
  3. Pivot the handle to the desired position (straight or pistol grip) until it locks securely into place. Ensure it is fully locked before use.

5. Maintenance
