Operation

Operating the Red Sun Parts Washer is straightforward. Always ensure safety precautions are followed.

  1. Power Connection: Plug the parts washer into a grounded 110V/60Hz electrical outlet.
  2. Turn On: Locate the power switch, typically on the side of the unit, and flip it to the 'ON' position. The pump will begin circulating the cleaning solution.
  3. Position Parts: Place the parts to be cleaned on the removable parts shelf or in the parts basket. For larger items, they can be placed directly in the tank.
  4. Begin Cleaning: Use the flexible flow-thru parts brush to direct the cleaning solution onto the parts. The brush allows for scrubbing while continuously applying solvent.
  5. Clean Thoroughly: Work on one section at a time, ensuring the cleaning solution reaches all surfaces. The continuous flow helps to wash away loosened dirt and grime.
  6. Turn Off: Once cleaning is complete, flip the power switch to the 'OFF' position. Allow any excess solution to drain back into the tank.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your parts washer.

  • Filter Cleaning/Replacement: The pump has a filter to remove impurities. Periodically inspect and clean or replace the filter to maintain efficient fluid circulation. Refer to the filter compartment for access.
  • Solvent Replacement: While the system recycles fluid, the cleaning solution will eventually become saturated with contaminants. Replace the solvent when its cleaning effectiveness diminishes. Always dispose of used solvent according to local regulations.
  • Tank Cleaning: After replacing the solvent, it is advisable to clean the inside of the tank to remove any settled sludge or debris.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the parts washer with a damp cloth to keep it clean and prevent buildup.
  • Hose and Nozzle Inspection: Check the hose and nozzle for any blockages or damage. Clear any obstructions to ensure proper flow.
