2. Important Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components listed in Section 3 are present and undamaged.
  2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, and dry surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
  3. Cleaning: Before first use, clean the water tank, capsule holder, and drip tray with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  4. Filling the Water Tank: Fill the water tank (Figure 3.5) with fresh, potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not use hot water or other liquids.
  5. Initial Rinse Cycle:
    • Insert the water tank into the machine.
    • Place an empty cup or container on the drip tray.
    • Plug the machine into a suitable power outlet (220 Volts). The power button will illuminate.
    • Wait for the machine to heat up (approximately 40 seconds). The power button will turn solid green.
    • Move the manual lever to the HOT (red) position and let water flow through until the water tank is empty.
    • Repeat this process with the COLD (blue) position until the tank is empty.
    • Refill the water tank. Your machine is now ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Preparing a Beverage

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh water.
  2. Plug in the machine and wait for the power button to turn solid green (ready).
  3. Adjust the drip tray (Figure 3.4) to the appropriate height for your cup.
  4. Open the capsule slot cover (Figure 3.6) and pull out the capsule holder (Figure 3.3).
  5. Insert a NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsule into the capsule holder.
  6. Slide the capsule holder back into the machine and close the cover firmly.
  7. Place your cup on the drip tray.
  8. Move the manual lever to the HOT (red) position for hot beverages or COLD (blue) position for cold beverages.
  9. Monitor the beverage flow and move the lever back to the central (STOP) position once the desired amount is dispensed.
  10. Carefully remove your cup.
  11. Open the capsule slot cover, remove the used capsule, and dispose of it.
  12. Close the capsule slot cover. The machine will automatically switch off after 1 minute of inactivity (Eco-mode).

5.2 Eco-Mode

The machine features an eco-mode that automatically switches off the appliance after 1 minute of inactivity to conserve energy. To restart, simply remove and re-insert the capsule holder, or move the manual lever.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray and Capsule Holder: After each use, empty and rinse the drip tray and capsule holder with warm water. They can also be washed in a dishwasher.
  • Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank daily. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.2 Descaling

Descaling is crucial to remove mineral deposits and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 3-6 months is recommended.

  1. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines. Follow the instructions on the descaling solution packaging.
  2. Empty the water tank and fill it with the descaling solution mixed with water as per the descaler's instructions.
  3. Place a large container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee outlet.
  4. Run the descaling solution through the machine using the HOT setting until the tank is empty.
  5. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
  6. Run several full tanks of fresh water through the machine (both HOT and COLD settings) to rinse out any descaling residue.

Note: Failure to descale regularly may void your warranty and affect beverage quality.

7. Troubleshooting
