2. Features
- Valve Compatibility: Designed for press-on use with both Presta and Schrader valves.
- Construction: Compact, lightweight, and durable CNC-machined aluminum body.
- Cartridge Compatibility: Works with standard 3/8" threaded compressed gas cartridges.
- Inflation System: Spring-loaded, push-on mechanism for controlled inflation.
3. Setup
- Prepare Cartridge: Ensure you have a standard 3/8" threaded compressed gas cartridge. Remove any protective caps from the cartridge.
- Attach Inflator Head: Carefully thread the MSW Windstream Push 100 Inflator Head onto the CO2 cartridge. Turn clockwise until it is securely tightened. Do not overtighten. The cartridge is now pierced and ready for use.
- Prepare Tire Valve:
- For Presta Valves: Unscrew the valve cap and then unscrew the small knurled nut at the top of the valve stem. Press down briefly on the valve stem to release any residual air and ensure it is not stuck.
- For Schrader Valves: Unscrew the valve cap. No further preparation is typically needed.
Warning: CO2 cartridges become very cold during discharge. Always handle with care and avoid direct skin contact with the cartridge during and immediately after inflation to prevent frostbite. It is recommended to use gloves or a protective sleeve.
4. Operating Instructions
- Connect to Valve: Firmly press the inflator head straight onto the prepared tire valve (Presta or Schrader). Ensure a tight seal.
- Inflate Tire: Once the inflator head is securely seated on the valve, push the inflator head further onto the valve stem to release CO2. The gas will flow into the tire.
- Monitor Pressure: Inflate the tire to the desired pressure. The inflation speed is rapid. Release pressure from the inflator head to stop the flow.
- Remove Inflator Head: Once the tire is inflated, quickly and firmly pull the inflator head straight off the valve.
- Secure Valve:
- For Presta Valves: Tighten the knurled nut on the valve stem and replace the valve cap.
- For Schrader Valves: Replace the valve cap.
- Dispose of Cartridge: Once empty, unscrew the CO2 cartridge from the inflator head. Dispose of the empty cartridge responsibly according to local regulations.
Caution: CO2 inflators provide a rapid burst of air. Be mindful of the tire pressure to avoid over-inflation, which can damage the tire or tube.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the inflator head with a clean, damp cloth after use to remove any dirt or debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the inflator head in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure no CO2 cartridges are attached during storage.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the inflator head for any signs of wear or damage, especially the internal seals. If any damage is observed, discontinue use.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No air flow when pressed. | CO2 cartridge is empty or not properly pierced. | Replace with a new CO2 cartridge. Ensure the cartridge is fully threaded onto the inflator head to pierce it. |
| Air leaks from valve connection. | Inflator head not fully seated on valve, or valve stem is bent/damaged. | Ensure the inflator head is pressed firmly and squarely onto the valve. Check the tire valve for damage. For Presta valves, ensure the knurled nut is unscrewed. |
| Air leaks from cartridge connection. | Cartridge not fully tightened, or internal seal is damaged. | Tighten the CO2 cartridge securely. If the leak persists, the internal seal of the inflator head may be compromised. Contact support. |
