1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for operating your Sony Cyber-Shot RX100 VII (DSC-RX100M7) premium compact camera. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Included Items

Carefully unpack your camera and verify all included items:

2.2 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the NP-BX1 battery pack with the correct orientation until it locks into place.
  3. Close the cover.
  4. Connect the camera to the AC adapter using the Micro USB cable, then plug the AC adapter into a power outlet to charge the battery. The charge lamp will light up during charging and turn off when complete.

2.3 Memory Card Insertion

The camera supports SDXC memory cards. A Lexar Professional 633x 64GB SDXC Memory Card is included in some bundles.

  1. Open the battery/memory card cover.
  2. Insert the memory card into the slot with the correct orientation until it clicks.
  3. Close the cover.

3. Operating the Camera

3.1 Camera Layout and Controls

3.2 Powering On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button to power the camera on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.

3.3 Basic Photography Modes

Rotate the mode dial to select your desired shooting mode:

  • AUTO: The camera automatically optimizes settings for various scenes.

The RX100 VII features a Fast Hybrid AF system with 315 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection AF points, covering a wide area of the image. It includes:

  • Real-time Tracking: Advanced subject tracking for both stills and movies.
  • Real-time Eye AF: Detects and tracks human and animal eyes for precise focus in portraits and wildlife photography.

3.5 Continuous Shooting

Capture fast-moving action with high-speed continuous shooting:

  • Up to 20 frames per second (fps) with AF/AE tracking and blackout-free shooting.
  • Single Burst Shooting at up to 90fps for capturing decisive moments.

4.1 S-Log Gamma Recording
