Introduction

The JBL PartyBox 100 is a high-power portable wireless Bluetooth party speaker designed to deliver an authentic audio experience and ignite any gathering. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your speaker to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Before using this product, read all safety information carefully.

  • Do not expose the speaker to dripping or splashing.
  • Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the speaker.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  • The battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

Top Panel Controls

  • Power Button: Turns the speaker on or off.
  • Bluetooth Button: Initiates Bluetooth pairing mode.
  • Light Show Button: Cycles through different light patterns or turns the light show off.
  • Volume Controls (+/-): Adjusts the master volume.
  • Play/Pause Button: Controls audio playback.
  • Sound Boost Button: Enhances bass for a more powerful sound.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows the current battery level.

  • USB Port: For playing music from a USB drive or charging external devices.
  • AUX In/Out: 3.5mm audio input/output for connecting external audio sources.
  • Mic Input: 6.3mm input for connecting a microphone with gain control.
  • Guitar Input: 6.3mm input for connecting a guitar with gain control.
  • AC Power Input: For connecting the power cord to charge the speaker or power it directly.

Setup

Charging the Speaker

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the JBL PartyBox 100. The speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery providing up to 12 hours of playtime.

  1. Connect the supplied power cord to the AC Power Input on the rear of the speaker.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.
  3. The battery indicator on the top panel will show the charging status. It will stop blinking and remain solid when fully charged.

Powering On/Off

  1. To power on, press the Power Button on the top panel.
  2. To power off, press and hold the Power Button until the speaker shuts down.

Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Connection

Connect your mobile device wirelessly to the JBL PartyBox 100 via Bluetooth for audio streaming.

  1. Power on the JBL PartyBox 100.
  2. Press the Bluetooth Button on the top panel. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and select "JBL PartyBox 100" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will turn solid blue, and you will hear a confirmation sound.

USB Playback

Play music directly from a USB flash drive.

  1. Insert a USB flash drive (FAT16 or FAT32 format) containing audio files into the USB Port on the rear panel.
  2. The speaker will automatically detect the USB drive and begin playing music.
  3. Use the Play/Pause and Volume buttons on the top panel to control playback.

AUX Connection

Connect external audio devices using a 3.5mm audio cable.

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX In port on the rear of the speaker.
  2. Connect the other end to the audio output of your device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player).
  3. The speaker will automatically switch to AUX input mode.

Microphone and Guitar Inputs

The PartyBox 100 allows you to connect a microphone and a guitar simultaneously for live performances or karaoke.

  1. Plug your microphone into the Mic Input and your guitar into the Guitar Input on the rear panel.
  2. Adjust the individual gain controls next to each input to balance the volume.

Light Show Modes

Enhance your party atmosphere with dynamic light shows.

  1. Press the Light Show Button on the top panel to cycle through available light patterns.
  2. Press the button repeatedly to select different modes or turn the light show off.

Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your JBL PartyBox 100.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the speaker. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, fully charge the speaker at least once every 3 months if not used regularly.
  • Water Resistance: The speaker is splash-proof, but do not submerge it in water or expose it to heavy rain. Ensure all port covers are securely closed when near water.
