Pro Products Neutra Sul HP01B Professional Grade Oxidizer

Instruction Manual

1. Product Overview

Pro Products Neutra Sul is a professional-grade oxidizer specifically formulated to neutralize unpleasant odors, such as the rotten egg smell, and various pollutants present in water supplies. It achieves this through an oxidation process. This product serves as an effective alternative to standard 7% hydrogen peroxide solutions, offering enhanced stability and a significantly longer shelf life, up to five times that of conventional 7% peroxide. Neutra Sul is designed to prevent the formation of undesirable colors, tastes, corrosion, and scaling caused by pollution degradation. It is NSF Certified to meet NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for drinking water additives, ensuring its suitability for potable water applications.

3. Setup and Preparation

Before using Neutra Sul, ensure you have the necessary equipment for injection into your water system. This typically involves a chemical feed pump. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves, when handling the product.

  • Inspection: Upon receipt, it is the purchaser's responsibility to check the container for any damage and ensure the cap is securely tightened.
  • Transportation: When transporting, keep the container upright in a plastic carrier, ideally in the trunk of a car or bed of a truck, to prevent spills.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the area where the product will be handled and used is well-ventilated.

4. Operating Instructions

The normal procedure for oxidizing a water supply with Neutra Sul involves injecting it directly into the water line. The specific method and dosage rates are usually determined by the chemical feed pump manufacturer or supplier and depend heavily on your unique water conditions.

General Usage Method:

  1. Injection: Inject Neutra Sul directly into the water line using a chemical feed pump.
  2. Dosage: Proper dosage rates will vary based on the application and the specific impurities in your water. For the oxidation of impurities, a common guideline is to feed Neutra Sul at 2 parts per million (ppm) for every 1 ppm of iron present in the water.
  3. Maximum Use Level: In potable water, the maximum use level for Neutra Sul is 15 mg/L.
  4. Consultation: If you are unsure about the appropriate dosage or setup for your system, consult your chemical feed pump's owner's manual or a water treatment professional.

5. Maintenance

Maintaining the effectiveness and safety of Neutra Sul involves proper storage and handling practices.

  • Storage: Always store Neutra Sul in its original container with the cap tightly sealed. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, flames, and combustible materials.
  • Shelf Life: The stabilizer in Neutra Sul provides an extended shelf life compared to standard 7% hydrogen peroxide. Always check the product's expiration date.
  • Container Integrity: Ensure the container remains intact and free from leaks.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using Neutra Sul, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Persistent Odor/Pollutants:
    • Verify the chemical feed pump is operating correctly and delivering the product consistently.
    • Re-evaluate your dosage rate. Water conditions can change, requiring adjustments. Consider increasing the dosage slightly within recommended limits.
    • Check your water's pH level. Low pH can make iron removal and oxidation less effective. Adjusting pH to 7 or slightly higher may improve results.
    • Ensure the product has not expired.
  • Product Not Dispensing:
    • Inspect the chemical feed pump for blockages or malfunctions.
    • Ensure the suction line from the Neutra Sul container is clear and submerged in the liquid.
  • Skin/Eye Irritation: If contact occurs, immediately follow the First Aid measures outlined in Section 2.
