2. Setup and Preparation

2.1. Preparing the Hot/Cold Gel Pack

The included gel pack can be used for either hot or cold therapy. Always refer to the instructions printed directly on the gel pack for precise heating and cooling times, as microwave wattages and freezer temperatures can vary.

For Cold Therapy:

  1. Place the gel pack flat in a freezer for at least 2 hours prior to use.
  2. Ensure the gel pack is not folded or creased during freezing to maintain its shape and effectiveness.

For Hot Therapy:

  1. Wrap the gel pack in a damp cloth or paper towel. This helps maintain pliability and prevents overheating.
  2. Place the wrapped gel pack in a microwave.
  3. Heat according to the wattage of your microwave and the recommended times on the gel pack. Start with the lowest recommended time and increase in small increments if needed.
  4. Carefully remove the gel pack from the microwave. Knead the pack to distribute heat evenly. If additional heat is desired, re-heat in 5-second intervals.
