Important Safeguards

• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycle.
• This appliance is for household use only.

• Water Reservoir: Located at the back, with a clear window for water level indication.

Setup

Unpacking

1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker.
2. Ensure all parts listed in the Product Overview section are present and undamaged.

Before First Use

Before brewing coffee for the first time, it is recommended to clean the coffee maker.

1. Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the MAX fill line.
3. Place the permanent filter (or a paper filter) into the filter basket, and then place the filter basket into its housing. Do not add coffee grounds.
4. Place the empty glass carafe on the heating plate.
5. Plug the coffee maker into a 110V electrical outlet.
6. Run a full brewing cycle with only water. Discard the water from the carafe.
7. Repeat this process once more to ensure the appliance is clean and free of any manufacturing residues.

Setting the Clock

After plugging in the coffee maker, the digital display will flash. Set the current time:

1. Press the Hora (Hour) button repeatedly until the correct hour is displayed. The clock cycles through AM and PM.
2. Press the Min (Minute) button repeatedly until the correct minute is displayed.
3. The clock will set automatically after a few seconds of inactivity.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

1. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired level, indicated by the markings on the side of the reservoir. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
2. Place the permanent filter (or a #4 cone paper filter) into the filter basket.
3. Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup (150ml), but adjust to your taste.
4. Close the lid securely.
5. Ensure the empty glass carafe is correctly placed on the heating plate.
6. Press the ON/OFF button (if available, otherwise the main power button) to start the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
7. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' function. The heating plate will keep the coffee warm for up to 2 hours before automatically shutting off.

Programming the Delay Brew Timer

The intelligent timer allows you to program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time up to 24 hours in advance.

1. Prepare the coffee maker for brewing as described in steps 1-5 of "Brewing Coffee" (water, coffee, filter, carafe in place).
2. Press the Prog button. The display will show "AUTO" and the programmed time will flash.
3. Use the Hora (Hour) and Min (Minute) buttons to set the desired time for brewing to begin.
4. After setting the time, press the Prog button again to confirm, or wait a few seconds for it to set automatically. The "AUTO" indicator will remain lit, indicating the delay brew is active.
5. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.
6. To cancel the delay brew, press the ON/OFF button (or the main power button) once. The "AUTO" indicator will turn off.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Remove the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water. They are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker, including the heating plate, with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
4. Never immerse the main unit of the coffee maker in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Monthly or as needed)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker, affecting its performance. Descale regularly.

1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water.
2. Place the permanent filter (without coffee) and the empty glass carafe in position.
3. Run a full brewing cycle.
4. After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for 15 minutes.
5. Discard the vinegar solution.
6. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse thoroughly.
