1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Mengshen Anti-Theft Bicycle Alarm. This device is designed to provide enhanced security for your bicycle, e-bike, motorcycle, scooter, trailer, and can also be used for doors and windows. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper functionality and safety.

2. Product Overview

The Mengshen Anti-Theft Alarm system consists of a main alarm unit and a wireless remote control. The alarm unit features a loud siren and motion detection capabilities, while the remote allows for convenient arming, disarming, and other functions.

2.1 Remote Control Functions

The remote control provides four primary functions:

  • Arm Button (Locked Padlock Icon): Activates the alarm system.
  • Disarm Button (Unlocked Padlock Icon): Deactivates the alarm system.
  • Tone Select Button (Lightning Bolt Icon): Cycles through different alarm tones.
  • Vehicle Finder Button (Bell Icon): Triggers a short alarm sound to help locate your vehicle.

3. Features

4. Package Contents

5. Setup and Installation

The alarm unit can be installed using either the provided double-sided adhesive pads or the zip ties.

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a discreet and secure location on your bicycle, motorcycle, or other item. Ensure the surface is clean and dry. For bicycles, the seat post or frame are common locations.
  2. Using Double-sided Adhesive:
    • Peel off one side of the adhesive pad and firmly attach it to the back of the alarm unit.
    • Peel off the other side of the adhesive pad and press the alarm unit firmly onto the chosen mounting surface for at least 30 seconds.
  3. Using Zip Ties:
    • Thread the zip ties through the designated slots on the back of the alarm unit.
    • Wrap the zip ties around the frame or seat post and secure them tightly. Trim any excess zip tie length.
  4. Battery Installation: The alarm unit requires 3 AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment using the provided screwdriver, insert the batteries according to polarity markings, and close the compartment securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Arming the Alarm

Press the Arm button (locked padlock icon) on the remote control. The alarm unit will emit a short beep to confirm it is armed. Any significant movement detected after arming will trigger the alarm.

6.2 Disarming the Alarm

Press the Disarm button (unlocked padlock icon) on the remote control. The alarm unit will emit a short beep to confirm it is disarmed. The alarm will not trigger from movement while disarmed.

6.3 Changing Alarm Tone

Press the Tone Select button (lightning bolt icon) on the remote control to cycle through the available alarm tones. The alarm will play a sample of each tone as you press the button.

6.4 Vehicle Finder Function

Press the Vehicle Finder button (bell icon) on the remote control. The alarm unit will emit a short, distinct sound, allowing you to locate your vehicle in a crowded area without triggering the full alarm.

7. Adjusting Sensitivity

The alarm features 7 levels of sensitivity, from least sensitive (level 1) to most sensitive (level 7). This allows you to customize the alarm's responsiveness to movement. To adjust the sensitivity:

  1. Ensure the alarm is disarmed.
  2. Press and hold the Tone Select button (lightning bolt icon) on the remote control for approximately 3 seconds until you hear a "Di" sound.
  3. The alarm will then emit a series of "Di" sounds, indicating the current sensitivity level (e.g., one "Di" for level 1, seven "Di"s for level 7).
  4. Press the Tone Select button again to cycle through the sensitivity levels. Each press will increase the sensitivity by one level. After level 7, it will loop back to level 1.
  5. Once you have selected your desired sensitivity level, wait for 5 seconds without pressing any buttons. The alarm will automatically save the setting and exit the sensitivity adjustment mode.

8. Battery Replacement

The alarm unit is powered by 3 AAA batteries. When the alarm sound becomes weak or the unit fails to respond, it is time to replace the batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the alarm unit.
  2. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the old AAA batteries.
  4. Insert 3 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  5. Securely close the battery compartment cover.

The remote control uses a CR2032 button cell battery. If the remote's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive, replace its battery by carefully opening the remote casing and replacing the CR2032 battery.

9. Troubleshooting
