Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your GPO Portable Retro Personal Cassette Player/Recorder, Model GPO-CC1. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device and retain it for future reference.

Setup
1. Powering the Device
The GPO-CC1 can be powered by batteries or an external DC adapter (not included).
- Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit (refer to Figure 2). Insert 2 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
- DC Power: Connect a compatible 3V DC power adapter (not included) to the 3V DC-in jack on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 1).
2. Inserting a Cassette
- Press the "STOP/EJECT" button to open the cassette compartment door.
- Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards and the tape side facing the playback head.
- Gently close the cassette compartment door until it clicks shut.

3. Connecting Earphones
For private listening, connect the included earphones or any standard 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack on the side of the unit (refer to Figure 1).
Operating Instructions
1. Cassette Playback
- Ensure a cassette is inserted and the device is powered on.
- Press the "PLAY" button to begin playback.
- Adjust the volume using the volume control wheel on the side.
- To fast forward, press the "F.FWD" button.
- To rewind, press the "REW" button.
- To stop playback, press the "STOP/EJECT" button. The auto-stop function will automatically stop playback when the tape reaches its end.
2. Recording from Built-in Microphone
You can record audio using the built-in microphone.
- Insert a blank or recordable cassette tape.
- Press the "RECORD" button (usually red) simultaneously with the "PLAY" button. The unit will begin recording from the built-in microphone.
- Speak clearly into the microphone located on the unit.
- To stop recording, press the "STOP/EJECT" button.
3. FM Radio Operation
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Slide the function switch (if present, usually on the side or top) to the "RADIO" or "FM" position.
- Rotate the tuning dial (refer to Figure 3) to scan for FM radio stations.
- Adjust the volume using the volume control wheel.
- For best reception, extend the telescopic antenna if available, or reposition the unit.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Tape Heads: Periodically clean the tape heads and pinch rollers with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to ensure optimal sound quality and prevent tape damage.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust.
Troubleshooting
