The Beeman 1517 is a PCP air rifle and requires an external air source (not included) for operation. This can be a high-pressure hand pump or a scuba/carbon fiber air tank.
- Locate the fill port on the air cylinder, typically at the front of the rifle.
- Connect your PCP pump or air tank fill probe to the rifle's fill port.
- Slowly fill the air cylinder to a maximum pressure of 3000 PSI. Monitor the pressure gauge on the rifle or your fill equipment carefully. Do not overfill.
- Once the desired pressure is reached, disconnect the fill probe.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your air rifle.
5.1 Cleaning
- Barrel Cleaning: Periodically clean the barrel using a suitable cleaning rod, patches, and airgun-specific cleaning solution. Clean from the breech end if possible.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt, dust, and fingerprints. For wooden stocks, use a wood-safe cleaner or polish.
- Magazine Cleaning: Ensure the magazine is free of debris and functions smoothly.
5.2 Lubrication
Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to moving parts such as the bolt and trigger mechanism as needed. Avoid petroleum-based oils, which can damage seals in PCP systems.
5.3 Storage
- Store the air rifle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Always store the air rifle unloaded and with the safety engaged.
- For long-term storage, it is recommended to store PCP air rifles with some air pressure (e.g., 1000-1500 PSI) to maintain seal integrity, but never fully empty or fully charged.
