5. Operating and Conversion Instructions
The Child Craft Lucas crib is a 4-in-1 convertible design, allowing it to adapt as your child grows.

Image 4: Visual representation of the crib's four conversion stages.
5.1. Crib Mode
Use as a standard crib for infants. Adjust the mattress support to the highest position for newborns and lower it as your child grows and becomes more mobile.
5.2. Day Bed Conversion
To convert to a day bed, remove the front rail of the crib. The mattress support remains in its lowest position. This configuration is suitable for toddlers who can safely enter and exit the bed independently.
5.3. Toddler Bed Conversion
For toddler bed conversion, remove the front rail and install the Child Craft Toddler Guard Rail (Model F09514), sold separately. This provides a partial barrier for safety while allowing the child to transition to a more open sleeping environment.
5.4. Full-Size Bed Conversion
To convert to a full-size bed, remove both side rails and attach the Child Craft Full-Size Bed Rails (Model F06464), sold separately, to the headboard and footboard. A standard full-size mattress and box spring (not included) will be required.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the crib surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals that could damage the finish. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the crib for loose hardware, damaged parts, or sharp edges. Tighten any loose screws or bolts immediately. Do not use the crib if any part is broken or missing.
- Storage: If storing the crib, disassemble it carefully and store all parts in a dry, temperate environment to prevent warping or damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Wobbly Crib: Ensure all bolts and screws are fully tightened. If the issue persists, disassemble and reassemble, paying close attention to the alignment of parts.
- Difficulty Adjusting Mattress Height: Check for obstructions or misaligned pins. Ensure the mattress support is properly seated in the designated slots.
- Missing Parts: Refer to the parts list in your assembly guide. If parts are missing, contact Child Craft customer support for assistance.
