Setup

1. Placement

Position the soundbar centrally in front of your television. Its slim, low-profile design is intended to complement your TV setup and fit in spaces where room is limited.

2. Connections

The HTX8500 Soundbar offers multiple connectivity options for seamless integration with your home entertainment system.

  • HDMI eARC: For the highest quality audio and simplified connection, use the included HDMI cable to connect the soundbar's HDMI OUT (TV eARC/ARC) port to your TV's HDMI IN (eARC/ARC) port. This allows audio from your TV and connected devices to be sent to the soundbar.
  • HDMI IN: Connect external devices such as a Blu-ray player or game console to the soundbar's HDMI IN port. The soundbar supports 4K HDR passthrough, ensuring high-quality video is sent to your TV.
  • Optical Input: If your TV does not support HDMI ARC/eARC, use an optical cable (not included) to connect your TV's optical digital output to the soundbar's TV IN (OPT) port.
  • Power: Connect the AC adaptor to the soundbar and then plug the AC cord into a wall outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Press the POWER button on the remote control or on the soundbar to turn the unit on or off.

2. Input Selection

Use the INPUT button on the remote control to cycle through available input sources (e.g., TV, HDMI IN).

3. Sound Modes

The HTX8500 features seven different sound modes to optimize your audio experience:

  • Cinema: Enhances movie soundtracks for an immersive experience.
  • Music: Optimizes audio for music playback.
  • Game: Provides enhanced sound for gaming.
  • News: Clarifies dialogue for news broadcasts.
  • Sport: Enhances sports commentary and ambient sounds.
  • Voice: Specifically designed to enhance vocal clarity.
  • Standard: General purpose sound mode.

Press the corresponding sound mode button on the remote control to select your desired mode.

4. Bluetooth Connectivity

You can connect Bluetooth-enabled devices to the soundbar for wireless audio streaming. Refer to the Quick Setup Guide for detailed pairing instructions.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sony HTX8500 Soundbar, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the surface of the soundbar with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the soundbar. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Environment: Avoid exposing the soundbar to extreme temperatures, humidity, direct sunlight, or excessive dust. This product is not waterproof.

Troubleshooting
